I don't see how who you like to have sex with can dominate your entire life, and sometimes even ruin it or make people do crazy stuff.

Image
Last Friday, an attaché of important gay people from Philadelphia made a trip to Washington D.C. as invited guests of President Barack Obama for the White House’s first-ever gay pride reception….some of them took advantage of photo opportunities to give the late President Ronald Reagan the middle finger

There is more to life than where you like to stick your pecker or rub your vag against, no matter if you are gay or straight.

Which is why you always seem to point out homosexuals doing this stupid stuff and never point out heterosexuals doing this stupid stuff. Why are you a gay-basher, Phatscotty?

I did not change the thread. I'm still posting things relevent to this..

You and the rest of the single people regardless of sexual orientation that want to have a princess wedding don't realize the ramifications of marriage.

If you just want an easily annulled civil union with a two year renewable term that's fine and a great idea but quit crying because you can't get married. I know you're thinking that puts me at odds with gay marriage. It doesn't, marriage is difficult and unrealistic. Some just don't realize being gay won't make it easier.

Anyone who's been divorced and remarried is not married either. Married was when you promised to be with that first peson for the rest of your lives, doesn't matter if it was a mistake. Until death might be longer than you expected, deal with it.

I didn't change the thread either. It evolved

What I want is for people to be okay with compromise, and be okay with everyone getting a fair say in a democratic way. Marriage is supposed to be special, and look what happened to it since we took God and the Church out of it, right about the same time Government took over and required people to have a license.

Marriage has become less important, less special, less serious. Which has obviously led to parents taking raising their children less seriously. Some people refuse to get married because it will end their benefits, and that leads to more fatherless or motherless children. Some people only use marriage as a tool to gain benefits. It's no wonder everything is all screwed up and the divorce rate is over 50%. Marriage has been abused and used for all the wrong reasons. It's mainly supposed to be about the children and a promise before God. There are so many children growing up in single parents homes, and don't tell me that doesn't usually impact children's lives for the worse. It certainly isn't giving them a head start. More and more children are being raised with disadvantages, and it's showing in our culture.

Marriage is so important to society, and yes there is a lot to learn and understand about the issue. I am confident people will take the time to explore the issue not just based on the propaganda that people should be able to love who they want to love, but to explore the issue on how it affects Democracy, states rights. fairness and equality, morals and values, redistribution of wealth and benefits, the tyranny of the minority, gay adoption, the mistakes of equating interracial marriage or slave ownership to opposing gay marriage, secularism, debt and GDP, reproduction rates, indoctrination in our schools, feminization of men, indoctrination through our culture, sexual confusion among our children, and bully tactics.

I'm not convinced that Marriage is important at all. Our concept of marriage is pretty new to people as well. The economy, as always, puts a huge amount of pressure on parents as well. The cost of raising children and spending enough time with them is unachievable. There's too many stress-factors to make marriage a viable and happy option for 50% of Americans.

I don't know, but I don't mind - my school district signs my paychecks. Ok, now that we've got that bit of stupidity out of the way, I'm asking Phatscotty...who's paying you?

I agree with you that marriage is important to society. I disagree with you entirely that gay marriage is a threat IN ANY WAY to that. In fact, I would suggest to you that gay marriage is JUST AS IMPORTANT to society as marriage between heterosexuals is, and for precisely the same reasons.

By the way, just because you don't like the comparisons doesn't make them invalid. If you really dislike the comparisons so much, perhaps you should re-examine why you're so against gay marriage.

That's a lie

If I was so much against gay marriage, I would not be so much for every state having a fair say, and I would not be supportive of any state who's people vote to recognize gay marriage.

I will support gay marriage in whatever state passes it legally, and I have made that clear since the very beginning.

But you've said that gay marriage leads to gay adoption and gay adoption is something you oppose... so implicitly you oppose gay marriage...?

edit: also: what kind of organisation is paying your public speaking/promotional bill? (feel free to be vague here).

Gay marriage will lead to gay adoption, exactly the way civil unions led to gay marriage.

For someone who supports gay marriage so much, you sure come out against it an awful lot. Funny how that happens.

I think it is. I see the vast difference (generally speaking, of course) between children in school who have two parents and children in school who have one. It is quite striking.
