How to save screen image from a game

I have tried a couple of different things, neither of which is very good.

Using PrintScreen, I can save the image in Word and crop it down, but the resolution is not that great and it's hard to see what armies are where without zooming.

Using save as in Firefox, the map saves only the armies and locations, but does not save the background map for some reason.

Suggestions?

Do print screen save it in paint then upload to photobucket.
