negative feedback voting

Postby gryffin13 on Mon Dec 31, 2007 10:36 pm

Just an idea, but maybe after you receive a negative feedback allow people who view your feedback to vote on whether or not it was fair/appropriate. I have looked at some other people's neg feedback and some are just bogus. I think it would be cool if other people could help out someone who was abused by a spiteful player. I dunno what do you think?

You can always help out by reporting inappropriate negative feedback to a Feedback Moderator via the Help Tab-->E-ticket to Feedback Dept.

I think he is reffereing to not something to remove the feedback, but if it's something that others wouldn't put neg. for, then they would vote 'unfair' or whatever. Just to give others an idea of how fair the feedback is. I don't see it happening, but it is a good idea, and I support it. :)

yes, this is a great idea. There are several negative feedback scenarios which are outside the scope of review by the mods but which are unfair to the marked player. The most obvious are simple misunderstandings, poor sports, or an immature opponent with hurt feelings.

I, for one, like to play cardless games, and to be effective, these demand more negotiation, which in turn leaves me more vunerable to these scenarios.

The only drawback that I see to the idea as it has been presented is that a voting system simply favors those with more online friends. As an alternative, one might consider some variation on my "court of inquiry" idea, which would involve a volunteer impartial review --> http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30772

But for a feedback to be removed by vote it would have to have a high majority and a certain number of votes. I say at least 20 votes with at least 80% voting unfair.

its a good idea, but it has pitfalls... the purpose of the feedbacks is to keep all in check... for those that know they could get them removed with simple voting, someone who knows enough, and is well liked for example, wouldnt have to worry about them anymore, because they could get them removed

most people can tell the difference between real negs, and BS ones... i myself dont worry about the people with negs, but the ones who have left BS ones are typically on my ignore list
