You ask why "we" lose to cooks. Not sure who the "we" is.
I just joined in December. so therefore am forced to wear the cook hat until I can prove myself.
Doesn't mean I don't know how to play strategy games.
I have an above average intelligence and have always excelled at board games.
I love playing with high ranked guys because of the point system, which is fair, (I'm sure you agree when playing someone higher than yoursef)
But, I take a huge risk doing this, because I can lose. Not as many points, but hey, I'll be where you are one day, and then i guess we can play. Unless ya wanna go now.
The "really" simple answer to your not so "smart" question, would be, that just because we wear a cook's hat, doesn't make us less smarter than you.
I belong to Mensa, and there are many people in Mensa who drive cabs, have blue collar jobs, etc. Being intelligent and deciding how you use it, are two completely different things.
I think the question is silly. It's based a lot on chance, not just strategy and experience.
Some days the bear eats you, somedays you eat the bear.
