Straight from the pages of "Earth: A Visitors Guide" comes a recipe to make a supersize colossal cookie! Make it yourself and send in pictures of your (probable) success!
Ingredients:
420g/150oz caster sugar
375g/130oz butter
3 eggs
400g/14oz chocolate
120g/150oz plain flour
3 teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda
1) Place the sugar and butter in a mixing bowl and stir vigorously until creamed. Add the eggs and continue to beat it. And I mean, beat it! Like it is your rival's face!
2) Break up the chocolate into small chunks and add them ino the mixture, but not all. Save some to put on the top. Sift in the flour and soda and carry on mixing.
3) When your arm drops off from mixing, line a baking tray with greaseproof paper and spread the dough out into a cookie shape. Push the remaining chocolate chunks into the top of the cookie dough. You can't have too many!
4) Slide the tray into a oven preheated to 180oC/350F/gas mark 4. Cook for 30-40 minutes, or until toasty and brown. Don't burn it, because if you do, you're eating it anyway.
5) Remove and allow to cool for several hours. Obviously...
How big will it be? Well that depends on the size of your oven.
Oh, and eating one will give you 8000 calories - 3.5 times the daily allowance. Do NOT try to eat one all in one go.
Yes I can cook, I can do anything.
