What is a good reason to be on an Ignore list?

Postby jangler3 on Wed Dec 26, 2007 8:05 pm

I tried to join a game. And I was on a players ignore list. I've never played him. No runins in the forum. Nothing! I've got good feedback. So I was just wondering what are some good reasons.

it wasnt for no reason, you were arguing with me in the forum, and you were new, so I protected myself against silly retribution. I do it a lot if I dont feel like dealing with drama. However, youve been here quite a while, and have only one negative feedback, so play me whenever you want now.

If you asked earlier, im sure Id have taken care of it then too. I have pages of ignores to make my life easier, but almost never say no to taking someone off if they ask nicely

Technically I suppose youre not asking me nicely, but its funny, and thats even better.

My list is made up of people with many, many negs, or more importantly people who give out negs for very silly reasons. everytime I read a BS neg from someone to someone else I click ignore.

Looking through my list its mostly a collection of people who left the site, and many got kicked off. Im very reasonable, if people ask me to remove I do, but I dont hesitate to click it, if Id rather not play someone.

I think its funny that AAfitz and wacicha are possibly the two most respected and liked players, but they have opposite views on ignore lists. And despite that, I understand each of their views on ignoring and I start to agree with both, which has some nasty results

If I notice a player with a disproportionally large amount of negative feedbacks, I will place them on ignore without looking further. Same thing with players under 100 or 200 points, because I think you can only get to that stage by trying to get a low score. You used to be able to ignore anyone with ~600 points or lower, but the amount of people in that range has grown rather large. As far as abuse goes, I generally ignore people that were abusive to me personally, and caused an unenjoyable game or forum experience.

My ignore list comprises of:

-Bad players

-Players that were annoying in chat

-Suiciders

-Players that give games away

-Last, but not least. The players that had secret alliances with krusher.

Edit: I also automatically ignore people that I see that i don't really want to play... Usually due to a ridiculous number of negs. Though i do read the negs first since there are many different kinds of players with alot of negs

i have only one player on ignore and he has been kicked from this site anyway i know i am on a few ignore lists but the reason i am is because of my low score and to prevent me from joining public games involving those players - i find this reason to be very unfair as i don't deliberately err in games and i have a feedback record of 67-0

Well, Jacks a much better and nicer guy than me as are many on here...

I just like to have fun, and take the game seriously enough that I dont want forum stuff leaching into my games for me, and the other players.

I have removed every player thats ever asked though, and usually apologize for putting them on there in the first place as I did with poor red bull... :D

I can't deny that I have deadbeated in a lot of games and pretty much brought being on an ignore list upon myself. But there are also many unreasonable cases of abuse of the ignore list. Such as ignoring someone cause you argue with them in forums, don't have a high score, make a questionable move in a game or accidentaly take out the wrong target in an assassin game. For those that ignore me for no reason, I just laugh at them because I'm now a private and I ignore most people who put me on their list.

If someone thinks that you are ruining the fun of the game (like talking like a dick, killing the wrong target, making annoying moves, deadbeating, etc.) then you should be on their ignore list. They dont become negatives, but they should make you adjust your ignore list.

I have 2 people on my ignore list, because i think they are multis...

he's on everyones list

he made a spectacle of himself for months and months, and has now tried to backtrack and pretend to be one of CC's upstanding victims. It is very fun to watch.

yeah, i have enjoyed all the "poor me" and "the mods are out to get me" and "why am i on so many ignore lists of people i haven't ever played" threads you have started the past few weeks. very amusing... and with each one, you alert more and more people to the activities that you are trying to make people forget!-0
