Should players that got kicked out due to innactivity receive points at the end of a game?

No, totally agree with you.

Innactive Players and Points

Postby GeneralN20 on Sat Dec 01, 2007 6:58 pm

In the previous topic I made discussing this matter, several suggested making a poll for it.

Basically, the problem came when in one of my last games the player that was in my team (in a doubles, 3 team game) completely disappeared and left me to battle the other 2 teams.

Luckily, I was able to win the game (mainly due to that my teammate's troops became mine), but it was not easy at all. The other players played a very good game. :?

Yet, by the time the game ended, the points were split for me and the innactive player!!! Not only did the other players lose points to a person that didn't deserve them, but I had to give in my share of points to a fool that never came.

Summarizing this whole thing is the popular, and apparently now trademarked statement: they should simply not get a piece of the cake if they were not there to cook it. :D

Nonetheless, the innactive player should also lose points if they do not win. Why? Well, because it would be completely unfair if a person simply has to become innactive to dump a game and not lose any points.

It matters very little if the other player's computer got run over by a bulldozer, or if the player had a bungee-jumping accident and wasn't able to play. If they simply did not help, they should not get any points, but they should lose points because they signed up for the game.

In other words, the punishment would simply go to the innactive person.

The way I see it: If your team wins, the points are spread out between the active players on your team. If your team loses, on the other hand, the points are taken from the inactive players rather than the active ones. But you shouldn't lose points for winning, that's just weird...

that could work but would lead to multi abuse since they can protect one account's points by deadbeating another on and on bigger maps the deadbeating actually helps

Yes, at times I've noticed some players actually become innactive to help their team-mate. Yet, that itself is a wrong practice, and setting up something like I'm proposing would set an end to that also.

Even if what I'm asking for isn't implement, something has to be done about those players that (in team games) just become innactive and leave the other player all by themselves.

This problem also touches those "new players" that sign up for a game, but never come back to play them.
