this is...probably one of the worst ideas that has come up. think about all the confusion and stuff when all the stuff happens.

Just leave alone freestyle. If you don't like it, don't play it. Simple as that :)

And this is a messy idea. Or at least I don't see a way for it to work... properly.

It still is based on the famous game though.

And yes I like this idea ^^

Needs a little more explaination though.

What are same-time games? My first thoughts were RT/speed games, but somebody would have mentioned that by now. What are they?

same time games

Postby Proximus Ventor on Mon Dec 03, 2007 6:59 pm

They are played in a freestyle manner but rather then sitting there and watching your armies die while you wait for your turn. All players giver orders and then all orders are executed at the same time time at the turn end.

Makes for a fair game, especially if you have last turn every round.

And as a programmer i can tell you guys that its not messy and it can be done easily.
It's actually better then any other style of risk.. I think

Peace :D

Well how would it work? Would each simultanesou turn be split up into segments, and each segment can only have one action by any given player?

That seems like it could get messy. What happens if two armies attack each other? Who wins? Who gets the territory and the card? Do neither of them get it? Are they both down to 1? What if one person had 2 armies and the other had 28? Would it be fair for the 28-army to attack the 2-army if the 2-army did the same?

explaination

Postby Proximus Ventor on Mon Dec 03, 2007 7:30 pm

First.

All orders are given

then
Any attacks that collide are done first in intermediate ground(between territories)and the victor surges on as usual.
E.g. 2 players attack the same territory with 4 and 8 each , these armies meet on the march and duke it out with the winner( say the 8 wins with 3 left)
getting to attack the original territory of choice.

Then all other attacks are done.
Since all collision attacks are done then all the rest are attack-defense and can be done with out trouble.

As for surges. a player can opt to surge on after an attack, this will carry out if enough armies are left.
e.g. if a player attacks a territory with 50 armies and takes the territory with 35 left then the armies march on, if the attack fails then no surge can take place as no armies are left.

as for cards, say three players all give orders to take a players last territory to take his cards, they all duke it out in intermediate ground with the highest rolls defeating both other enemies and the winner being able to attack the territory under question if they have any armies left and take the cards.(its like armies meeting on the march).

i think thats it,,hmmmm

Peace
