MANAGMENT TIME ALOCATION........by DUGCARR1

Postby dugcarr1 on Mon Apr 24, 2006 10:39 pm

enough with new fucking maps untill..............

1) when selecting wich country were attacking from make sure its a country even cabable of attacking (ie not completly surounded by my own countrys).

2) Same idea on wich country were attacking, make sure its an ajoining country, so we search from 2-5 insted of 10-30.

3) learn how to semi enforce secret alliances.

4) be able to see who is ignoring u.

5) highlight the "join game" green when it is that players turn,, so players with multiple game can see what game is ready easily.

6) Have a small section on each game were we can wright notes on game that only we can see.

7) have the last 10 game #'s someone played , so we can go back to see what happened easily

8) ADAM BJ drinks his own pee. ( I have proof)

take a vote or write to managment if u like any of these ideas!

The only thing that I think would be useful enough to do would be to see who has you on their ignore list. But the rest of your suggestions i dont really think they are too important.

New map development does not take away from programming time since new maps are developed by the community and not by Lack.

Therefore, I do not that I think new map development should be halted until your issues are addressed. However, I think certain items are valid.

In order:

1 & 2) I agree

3) Impossible so long as people have freedom of thought and action.

4) Irrelevent. You will know if you cannot join a game with a person. If they don't want to be with you let them be and find others to play with.

5) The green light is enough. Reordering the "Current Games" section is easier and already a priority from what i understand.

6) Send yourself a PM. It works.

7) It already exists. Just click on a player's name and you get their whole history.

actually zorba, about the new maps, yes it does take away from programming time

also zorba, I do not believe he was asking for development to be halted in order for these ideas to become integrated into the game, what I think he was attempting to write (Yes dugcarr, it is spelled WRITE) that the ideas that are now being processed by Lack and people should be our first priority, this does slow the process a LITTLE bit, as Lack has to put them up.

Otherwise, people should continue their map making, but maybe hold off on sending them to Lack for a short amount of time, as he and his team are extremely busy getting the website into tip-top shape, I think for the moment, we have enough maps for.. probably a while, as I haven't even played them all.

1 and number 2 I whole heartedly agree with you sir.

3) An enforcment on secret alliances is very tough to do as zorba said, free will, will make this difficult, the only thing I can suggest is to make the punishment for this more severe (multi's especially included) but the fact of the m,atter is, you can most of the time not tell UNLESS they are extremely blatant and are not attacking at all. Decision: neutral

4) This is one that I will have to say is not necessary, but is in fact useful, I do not know if anyone is ignoring me at the moment (I sure hope not :P) but if I understand correctly, you can still see games of people you are being ignored by and/or ignoring, and if you do not know that you are being ignored, you can see these games and attempt to join, which will be a futile attempt. Again, not sure if thats right, haven't yet had this happen. This is a good suggestion in my opinion, not completely necessary but... may be useful sometime. Decision: Agreed

5) The only thing I would have to say could be changed and would help about the turn thing, is to change it so that if it is Freestyle: No double turns, and you are the last to go, to change your color to.. i.e. white, just so you can tell that you cannot YET go. Decision: Disagreed

6) This I would have to say... Is completely unecessary, if a person's memory is that bad they can A) Send themself a pm or B) Buy a frigin sticky note, and put it onto your computer. I admit it would be a fun little thing to have, just to be there and look col and all, but seriously, maybe 30% of the people here would use it. I just do not think t's necessary whatsoever.. Obvious Decision: Disagreed

7) The last ten games, he means have 10 in the recent game history, instead of 4, I admit, it's lame to have to go into my history and search out a recent game, rather than just look down at top 10 recent and check it out this would take an unecessary hassle for all of us out of the picture, and just make things a tid bit easier... maybe :D. Decision: Agreed

I think you have some good ideas here Dug, of course, these are just my opinions, but all in all, I think many could be useful, good work.

Well, I have 2 minor suggestions:

1) the ignore list could show the points and rankings like the scoreboard. I added some of the worst ranked players to my list, only because I dont want lose 60 points in a game to guys with less than 600 points, for example. But, if their ranks change, I would gladly remove them from my list.

2) to see all my games, I need enter one of my games, click my name, then click "all games with...". Or I can use the game finder, of course. But I think would be easier (and easy to implement too) a link to all my games at the bottom of "My Games" page, under the recent games.

Thats it.

number 6 is already possible, you can make a post to self in game chat (tick box under where you type the in game chat*

The rest of hte suggestions im so-so about, althoguh the suggestion about the new maps is a concern. The foundry usually have a good check over the XML before a map is quenched for live paly. However their is the occassionally problem with missing connections etc. The foundry regulars have requested a test center for some time to reduce the chance of this happening. But then again with the number of games that are played once a game goes live its much quicker and easier to have bugs identified.
What do you know about map making, bitch?

Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.
