Is a score reset really punishment ?

Postby JOHNNYROCKET24 on Wed Nov 21, 2007 9:53 pm

do you feel that a player starting over with 1,000 points is really a punishment? Personally I feel you can reach 2,000 points within 2 weeks again and by the end of the month your back over 3,000. We all know you get more points for a win when your ranked lower so now your collecting say 30-40 points per win instead of 5-10. Doesnt really take that much time to run the score up.

I say losing points by itself doesnt do any punishment, but when you cheat, and then lose premium at the same time and lose all the points you worked for, i think its a fair punishment.

Because you still worked hard for those points, even if cheating was involved. removing the points and membership seems like good punishment.

i think that the fact that a cheater loses the premium but is allowed to continue is wrong. or that a non-premium multi can escape the ban by buying premium. but hey it's all about money in this world so why not.

anyway as long as krusher (i suspect you're talking about him) plays fair i don't see what's wrong if he gets to 3000 points again (aside from the initial thing where i think he should be banned forever)

yeah its punishment. but i dont see him above 2000 soon cause of the huge target he has now. and not to mention it costs him another 20 bucks to get prem again

so just have to slap another 20 USD into CC's pockets, it doesn't really make much of an example to other people more along the lines of "your going to have to pay for cheating, a whole 20 dollars* really not much of a deterrent if you want to cheat

Edit: I agree with DiM I think cheaters should have there usernames banned and there IP as well.

I think resetting points is very similar to getting a ticket on the road. Typically, you can pay it, or at least do community service to offset it, but more then anything else, it's the embarrasment of having to be pulled aside, stripped of premium, and points reset.

embarrassment only works for people that have a little decency. a guy that doesn't give a rotten egg on decency and morality will not be embarrassed. he will continue to cheat and be a jerk even after he's stripped of premium and has his score reset.

He's going to have to live with the reputation for the rest of his time here.

If he tries to run from his reputation we'll bust him as a multi and he will be banned ;)

It's our scarlet letter.....oooooh, maybe we should actually have one of those for real....

do you think he actually cares? honestly do you?

i think right now he's standing in his chair laughing at the fact that he made it to conqueror by cheating and he's still allowed to play

I don't think the punishment is fair at all. Krusher didn't do anything. But whatever the decision has been made. I just want my two cents heard. If Krusher can be punished for being good who says we all can't?

Unfortunately, some people take this the same way in real life, like in getting tickets. The continue until they are busted enough times for there license to become revoked permanently.

There should be a sticky some where with the info of all the people that have been cought cheating and still have active acounts. That way each player on the site can make an informed decision on wether to play with them.
There can only be one. OK sometimes two or three.

Of course it's a punishment, but is it a harsch enough to fit the crime?

Not much of an example to deter other cheats. Krusher lost his premium? Big whoop. It was only good for another 6 months or so anyway, unless this means he only has four active games permanently. Is giving him a "do over" even an actual penalty? It seems he is very fortunate to not be banned from this site permanently or that his score isn't less than zero.

None of those penalties matter if players dish out some "community justice" by kicking his ass at every opportunity for a long long time.

Are you serious? My man, he has now admitted to it all and is giving up all his accomplices. Read his comments in all the forums. What is wrong with you? You have been by his side from the onset. What does it take for you to believe the fact that he is a cheat besides him admitting it and the abundance of evidence.

As far as the punishment; what punishment? Once a cheat always a cheat. He can buy a premium under a new name and start all over. Wow! Unreal! To think there are players out here that think he is innocent is absolutely absurd!

A proper punishment would be a permanent ban for the player "Krusher"!

So you voted twice? Is that cheating? I can't vote twice for president. Maybe your score should be reset.

Ps I didn't vote because I don't like either of my choices. Kinda like the last presidential election. :o

At this point, I almost wish some random drunk had accidently gotten onto the ballet and won. At least he has an excuse for being stupid as shit.

P.S. Don't believe me? Go youtube some clips where he can't even pronounce words in his speeches right. You'd think he'd at least read em before going before the press...
