How so? A country is a rather arbitrarily defined piece of land. If it is considered developed, then it's prevalent culture is probably a clone of the US'. The vast, vast majority of the people who dwell within you have never met, will never meet and would probably not like if you did meet. How then can you be proud of "your" country, much less feel admiration for those that died for it?
How is it possible to be proud of an abstract and arbitrarily defined concept, when it is extremely likely that you will never have any serious impact on said concept?
