I have always been of the belief that all players should have the opportunity to play all other players. I am fairly certain I will always be a low ranker for a combination of reasons (primarily because I am brutal at this game) but there are many on here I have come to know and would love to play but I totally understand at the moment why they would not want to play me because of the risk of losing their precious pts.
I always believed 0 pt games would be a potential solution to this but as previously stated this too would have problems.
I suspect this debate will continue for a long time to come but I don't believe in the main this is because a % of high rankers are snobs it is because of a fear that a/ they could lose a huge amount of pts and b/ that the games will not be challenging enough.
youd be amazed how many players will play you regardless of your score... the fact that some dont play open games with lower ranks, doesnt mean they wouldnt play players known to be positive players, with a good attitude like yourself. Its more the risk of getting a negative player, cheater, etc. that keep many out of the open games.
And for those who want to maintain their score of 3000, that doesnt make them a snob, any more than the fact that they wont attack with every three they have on the board on round one.... there's just no way to win that way, or for a player with 3000 to play many open games.
Id play you anytime rebel. Your posts are always reasonable, and you always seem to have a positive attitude, whether or not I agree with every point or not... unfortunately, all players arent like you, and I dont enjoy the drama of dealing with them... its one thing to lose 60 points in a game, its quite another to do it when he and his buddy tag team me, leave a negative feedback, and swear through the whole game blaming me for their need to cheat....
