Rolling Stone's 100 Best Guitarists

Well, I guess most of this is right, but there are a few key mistakes. Who can spot them?

I'll give you a clue for one. The duckwalk is in the 90's. :(

Edit: I lied... I'm reading it now.

Rolling Stone can be full of shit sometimes. Some of the reviews they've given albums have been so far off the mark its unbelievable.

Why the heck is Kurt Cobain #12? He beat other guitarists who are way better...

Well, thers no Johnny Marr so the list lacks any real credibility.
And Paul Weller?
Graham Coxon?

Plus, The Edge is in the list and the guy can barely play achord.
So, nope, the list is a joke.

Cobain was a great songwriter. But nothing special as a guitarist.
Whereas, Van Halen couldnt write a decent song to save his life, but an awesome technical player.

Well, I never really liked the Rolling Stone at all. This has changed nothing. This is just a popularity contest.

And "of all time"? What about Niccolo Paganini then? :P

It doesn't becuase when you think about all of the shit bands that have popped up between 03' and now, there really wouldn't be any changes to the list.

Like Johnny Ramone at #16. The Ramones were not creative. They were good, but every guitarist from that era could do what he could do. Nothing special about him, and he makes the top 20.

Yet Angus Young is all the way down at 95. :(

Yep, it certainly is a popularity contest. People like Chris Broderick would never get onto lists like that, even though he's insanely good at the instrument. Seriously... he's nuts.

And Scorpions!? You do know that their two most popular songs: "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and "No One Like You" pretty much the same song right? Although you're on the right track with Randy Rhoads.

Eddie Van Halen is easily better than 70 and David Gilmour should be higher than 82. I thought that the Edge for U2 was a bit too far up. and while I'm sure there are more of them that were misplaced I didn't take but a cursory glance at it.
