Vote for ron paul. He'll stop people pretending to not fly planes into buildings ever again! He's no shill - he's a politician!

Ron Paul '08 - keeping America free of reptilian overlords! And mexicans too!

Ron Paul - he's the real anti-enchilada!

Ron Paul - because whitey is rightey!

Ron Paul - He's got the names of TWO men!

Ron Paul - keeping rednecks docile since 2006!

Ron Paul - He won't accept the mark of the beast!

Ron Paul - Say it enough times and it sounds like rompe rompe rompe!

I actually don't care. But i feel that the rampant lunacy quotient in this forum is reaching pre-tribulation levels. We've gone from one creationism thread to a bunch of electric monks who appear to have started believeing anything and everything. Like children, or moths. It's weird. Is it the full moon maybe?

How can you be that certain when ron paul a) clearly has his shirt on in that picture, and b) is not holding a massive sword?
Anyway they have the same hair. And ron paul rides around on a green tiger.

Looks to me like he's got plenty of the power of greyskull coursing through his veins too... if you catch my drift.

As we sit here and make fun of Ron Paul. I'd be curious what ALTERNATIVE you guys are thinking of. Does Hillary play the role of Princess Lia? Rudy the role of Yoda? Obama the role of "Chewy"?

You can sit here and ridicule a guy who genuinely cares about the direction of his country yet say nothing of those destroying it.

Yes because all the other candidates secretly HATE the US and want it destroyed!

They, you see, have already taken the bar code tattoo!

It's spelled Leia.
And why would obama play chewie? Because he's black? You're sick. But you're also right. We can not allow wookies to destroy the US. That honour has to go to the space hermit. A space hermit who uses black magic liberally, i might add.

Wait - this was a serious post?

OK. I'll try.

Leia is a feisty babe. She's spoiled but she kicks ass. SO hillarry might do that OK, depending on your taste.
Yoda is 900 years old, 3 feet tall, green and kicks ass. He is super wise. So maybe Rudy would be better off as someone taller.
Chewy is hairy, 7 feet tall and kicks ass. He speaks in weird growls and moans. I don't know if obama communicates like this, or if he is as excellent at fixing hyperdrives. He may well do both.

But ron paul as obi wan? Well Ben kenobi never really made his views on immigration known. In fact he smuggles himself out of tattoine using jedi mind tricks and seems happy to be an illegal alien all over the place. So maybe ronpaul as obi wan isn't such a good choice.

Can i go back to being facetious now please?

Ok, the picture of Ron Paul in Star Wars was joking around, Jay. I'll try to be a little more serious. I've outlined to you in the Jesus Freaks forum why I oppose this man.

I honestly believe he will not uphold or enforce the civil rights laws that our country has passed. The responsibility of enforcing laws falls to the executive branch of the govt. Even if they don't believe some laws to be just, they still have to enforce them.

I'll state my reasons again:

1. His borderline racist remarks about African-Americans in 1992 (as reported in 1996 by the Houston Chronicle). He blames it on a ghost writer.

2. His refusal to vote for Rosa Parks to receive the Congressional Gold Medal in 1999. He was the only "no" vote. He claims it's because federal $$ shouldn't be spent for awards like that. (however, he has on other occasions towards other people as I pointed out to you in the JF forum).

3. His refusal to affirm support for the 1964 Civil Rights Act in 2004. Once again, he was the only "no" vote.

4. He has made disparaging remarks against Barbara Jordan based on her race in the Austin Chronicle in 1996. He then claims that he really didn't say that in the Texas Monthly in 2001. (this is his pattern when confronted with his remarks).

5. He is supported by Stormfront, a white supremacist group. He has received campaign $$ from Donald Black. All he has to do is once and for all make a statement that he refuses their support and return the money. He still won't do it.

As far as an alternative...if I had to pick a Democrat I would suport Bill Richardson. From the Republican side, probably Mike Huckabee. They both have experience as governors running a state. We don't always get a president who shares all of our ideological beliefs, but that doesn't mean that they will be terrible leaders overall.

The main thing I still can't understand, Jay, is that your avatar says "Imagine No Liberals". I showed you National Journal's conservative/liberal ratings for 2006. Ron Paul has the highest liberal rating and lowest conservative rating of all the Republican presidential candidates. Perhaps you haven't had time to check it all out so I'll give you a chance to go look at it.

I think the data posted is a tad bit misleading to say the least. RP got a 77 liberal rating for foreign policy. Is this because he is anti-Iraq war as the constitution clearly testifies to the illegality of such a war? Such a high number for foreign policy. I agree with getting out of Iraq.... even though most so-called conservatives are pro-Iraq war. Where do these numbers originate from...votes? I noticed that although RP had a liberal rating of 61(total rating) the two senators in my state (NY) were in the 70's. That includes Hillary.

Ron Paul isn't perfect....and I'd be more at ease if those comments concerning race were never made but I also know that other politicians have had similar views yet held high offices in government. The alleged statements almost always, if not always, have had no bearing on how they ran the country. I think your fear of returning to the days of segregation are simply an over-reaction.

I always laugh when you seem to say that only Ron Paul is against the Iraq war because it's against the constitution. It's so glaringly obvious that you change your views whenever you feel like it. (Or whenever you find a conservative who you think is the greatestss!)
