i got my collie from a ranch that takes in collies.

I had no idea about them, but learned that she is collie and setter and smart as a whip.

she also has emotions, almost human in fact, she can sense when someone in the family needs some loving or hurt.

its fucking amaizing cuzz ive rasied german shepards and "male dogs" so to speak and collies and old english sheepdogs kick there asses in an all around dog. they are also very territorial and will protect you to a point.

granted a pit bull or pincher will do more damage but collies dont kill the wrong target, or any in fact, but will scare the shit out of burgler etc.

That would be a good mix. Any idea what kind of setter? (Irish, English, etc.)

Yes, my son has one. Her name is Shellie. She had 7 puppies 6 weeks ago.
She is the most loving dog and very smart. She has a black patch over one eye. Reminds me of Ace from the band "Kiss". :P

Paul has the star over one eye. Ace had two silver things one over each eye.

Ours is that color too.

The guy we got her from claims some breaders put them down if they are not mostly black with a white stripe down the middle of the head.

She's pretty smart but deaf, so that's a challenge, just turned 7.

For all border collie lovers

Postby wrestler1ump on Tue Nov 13, 2007 3:04 pm

I just got my copy of this DVD in the mail today:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zI7TN8q6ktk

The youtube video pretty does the explaining for itself. I haven't watch the entire film yet, but it goes 75 minutes in total and tells a story for about 12 of the dogs that are on the farm, along with human commentary. It ships in around 5 business days.

I think Lassie is a great dog. Way better than any Border Collie.

Don't like German Shepard... I got bit by one, and it hurt like hell.
It was my dad's girlfriend dog. Her name was Kimba and she hated kids.
I was in our back yard and somehow she got out of her pen, and attacked me. My dad told her to get rid of the dog. She must of liked my dad a lot cause she got rid of the dog. :)
