Roman tribes were something different. There were 3 original tribes (Ramnes, Tities and Luceres) and they have been members of patrician families (full roman citizens that had the right to vote) at the beginning of republic. Later, with further Roman conquests were 35 tribes, not 12.

That is a big question.

They are superior in the sense that they are extremely intelligent. They keep the power and money within the family by, in the earlier years, close inbreeding, in some cases between uncle and neice and mother and son, now to a lesser degree, such as Dubya senior and his horrid hag, who are 9th cousins.

There are, allegedly, 300 families that can account for the vast wealth and power in the world, who are the true descendents of the 12 tribes.
