kill/death ratio

Postby killer_ace3 on Wed Oct 31, 2007 9:13 am

how about adding a kill/death ratio?

this would keep track of how many people you have eliminated and how many time you have been eliminated.

sometimes this speaks better for people who play games and kill alot but lose to the last man

It would be a cool stat to add to a profile, but not a high priority.

i never said that it had to be a priority but i think that it would speak a lot more about a player than rank and win/loss. it would help more accuratly judge a players ability.

How about if it was player specific, so you could know who owns you, and vice versa... hehehe... maybe it would show only for people you had played at least 5 times, or some such, to keep the list from getting too huge.

good idea...but wouldn't how many times you've been eliminated just be how many games you've lost?

Not if you're eliminated and win, as in team games.

as for kill death ratio, how about something similar in each game to show how many armies you've eliminated and how many of your armies have been eliminated to shut people up who complain about dice? (this is what i thought this post would be about when i clicked on the link :) )

what list? this would be just a number. example...

players eliminated___
eliminated player___

get the point?

exactly

this would be an interesting idea for the in game screen but not for the profile screen

i dont kno about unnecessary. not needed right away but i think that it would be a huge help in determining the skill of a player. i know that in some cases people wont play against low ranked people because they think that they are bad at the game. this would help to prove that skill may not always win the game but it can come very close.

No problems with the suggestion, could be interesting, but I don't think it more accurately demonstrates a players ability.

Particularly since it can be a bad move to take someone out, or a good move to be eliminated. For example, it can be a bad move to take someone out if you can't midturn cash in an escalating singles game if you are left with few armies and lots of cards and become an easy target. And it can be a good move to have your teammate eliminate you in an escalating team game so they can sweep the board with your cards.

But yeah, why not, not high priority in my books though.

good point. but more or less it would be a better way of determining their ability than win/loss

this could be interesting...some people have poor ranks, but end up finishing in the top 2 of almost every game they play, this could help reflect that

The 'List' that would be to long, in regards to my idea, was if you included everyone you had ever played... I was saying it would be interesting to have a list that showed the names of all the players you have played more then five time, and your winning percentage versus each one.

I also said it would be way to darn much work, but I still think it would be fun information.

I really don't see how this help determines skill for a couple of reasons.

1) Sometimes in team games, your own teammate kills you off to win the game. This would count against you... However as it does not happen that often, and the stat wouldn't even be more than a curiosity, I suppose it might not be a big deal. Although the more competitive may find it frustrating to be forced to take a hit in a stat, however meaningless, to win a game.

2) If you go on and eliminate a bunch of people just to get stopped and have the last person walk all over you, you deserve to lose. How does it show you are good that you eliminate 4/5 people in a game only to realize your planning sucks and you can't eliminate the last guy with 3+ cards who then cashes and kills you. Even in non-esc games, it is more than possible to eliminate somebody and have the move just be stupid.

2 words...terminator games...the idea is to kill others...some people can kill 3/5, however then have some noob suicide on them and thereby lose the game overall...

also in assassin games especially in 8 player ones i may lose bun not always am i the one eliminated...someone else may b eliminated ta lose the game...
