The Tournament Tab (Updated!)

Postby Sir. Ricco on Mon Oct 29, 2007 7:22 pm

Subject
Basically what it is, is a new tab that can hold all your tournament games.

Body
For players: It is a tap to separate your tournament games from your regular games.

For Tournament Directors: It is a tap to hold all of your tournament games you started. You could view the games like it was your game. For example: You could see whose turn it was, the time left for the turn, and whose been eliminated.

I like the idea, although I still don't feel that non-premium members should get 8 games...

I actually like the idea of giving freemies four tourney games as well as four normal games.

1. It would make running tournaments easier, since that would solve the problem of having slots open for the freemies.

2. That would encourage more tournament play, since it'd be easier to guarantee open slots for premiums. Also, the freemies would be playing four games at a time and yearn to play more, and they'd meet that demand with tournament game play.

Hmmm, those are both good points.

Here's the problem: Lack isn't going to give non-premium players 8 games, simple as that. If he did that he would be hard pressed to convince anyone that premium membership was worth it.

As for making tournaments run easier, I don't think the added game limit would really improve it all that much in the end. The dedicated non-premiums don't seem to have too much trouble with making it through tournaments. As a matter of fact, I know of several that dedicated ALL of their 4 games to a single tournament at a time.

There really isn't much of a lack of supply for tournament players, it's more about us finding a few more quality tournament organizers. Right now there are probably a dozen or so that really put their souls into it, and we could easily use another dozen at the moment.

What if it just showed you the tournament games your playing and started and didn't add any games. How does that sound prime :?:

That would be a far better idea, but it would still be a pretty low priority. ;)

Are you wanting an added ACCOUNT or just to have the trounament game information displayed seperately?
If you ware wanting more games, I would say no. If you want more, pay the bucks. However, I could see the benefit of being able to quickly look at see where you are, where everybody else is (a brief summary) for any active tournaments. It might involve too much programming to be practical, however.
