Who was it that defended to the death DUnkirk beaches so the Britsish could run away like scared pussy-cats? We did. Who resisted with the maquis up close qnd personal with the Germans we did. France always had a reputation as a belligerent warrior nation until embarrssed Britons (they ran away at Dunkirk and abandonned us) and Americans (late again) made up all this crap about France surrendering, when to quote the general, "the people were betrayed by the élites (of socialist government)"

That said, I do think America fought exceptionally bravely

and just read the post. France didnt surrender. Traitors did, but the people, as legitimate authority, were betrayed by élites. A Government signing away that becomes illegitimate.

No offense intended. Just with all the anti-France stuff over here (renaming French Fries , "Patriot Fries" as a statement of some sort) it will take time to deprogram the brainwashing that has taken place. I did visit France once, unfortunately it wasn't a pleasant experience.

Oh post the story. Worst two things that happened in France to me were one lady in a small town just south of paris wouldn't let me put regular fuel in the british rental car and another in Deippe couldn't understand when I said hamburger, it was at the "quick" which was a fast food place with the food written in english. Of course it's pronounced "AAAAmbergar" I didn't even figure that out until hours after when I was talking to the phone operator in english looking for the "aaaaarley davison" dealer.
