who's more of a loser?

Postby static_ice on Wed Oct 24, 2007 8:46 pm

a chronic WoW addict who spends money on a subscription and in-game purchases (not to mention buying the actual game) and spends all of his time getting his character to the upper levels

OR

a flash-game addict who doesn't spend any money on his addiction, other than internet rates, but spends his time over-playing several flash games to get in the high scores

WoW.

Why would you want to pay that much for a retarded game?

WoW addicts indefinately. You see, I used to have friends (emphasis on "used to") who started playing WoW.

You see, they somehow reason out in their mind that, since they paid for the month, they have to spend at LEAST 5 hours a day on it. THEN, when they get stronger and get in a clan or party or w/e they do, they justify spending at least 8 hours on WoW because they have to quest with their group.

They turned angry and bitter whenever anyone talked to them or asked them to do anything when they were playing WoW. They even cancel dates and get-togethers for WoW. One even lost his girlfriend and his job, and didn't seem to care any less about it.

I have played it, but I didn't catch on to it like others did. I played it for about 3 hours and was like "Wow, why on earth wasn't I playing... Absolutely ANYTHING else?!"

Yea. It's not like I didn't give it a chance. I honestly determined it blew after about 15 minutes. BUT I thought I'd give it a chance, and play around, see what it had to offer. Yeah, after three hours, I had to stop.

And everyone's like "Ohh, but it only starts getting good when you're a high level! LAWLZ!" But here's the thing. Spending a good portion of your day, leveling up and getting better items, JUST so you can finally become Max lvl (60 or 70 or w/e). In the end, when you can finally start grouping with others for items, you've spend WAY too much time to get there.

Something you spend time on, that isn't fun, and causes stress, seems an awful lot like WORK.

The only difference: Working earns you money, and playing WoW costs money.

As a former WoW player (played endgame, so 3-4 hours a day, 3-4 days a week), I'd have to say that flash addicts are more of losers. Reason being: WoW is more fun, plus you can sell your account to make your money back (or if you're good, make a profit). Just ask the Chinese.

Quite true! Those Koreans and Chinese actually have little companies of people that play WoW and make a profit. I also heard of Korean Gold Farmers (people that Gold Farm in the game and sell the gold for real money) that supposedly make quite a bit of money. Whether or not it's a lot of money by our standards (as in, not third world country) is a different question.

you don't know that does ruin the whole game? i played wow for 3 months and got bored. the only good thing about that game are the graphics, runescape is even better (wich i kinda finds boring too now, so i keep it with cc)
