Gimmick Games!

Here's an idea! There could be gimmick games, games that violate some of the game options.

These could be promotional or perhaps just a standard or paid option.

Ideas:
    Uber Fog of War: 115 members playing on a World 2.1 map with Fog of War. Basically, survival of the fittest, and you can only see the countries on either sides of you... I don't recommend standard on this idea, but Terminator would work nicely. ~ original idea goes to wcaclimbing.

    Forced attack games: The object of this game would be to lose, but here's the trick: you are forced to attack your neighbors until you run out of armies. You would be able to direct your armies, but until you cannot attack anymore, your turn would continue. Last person standing loses. My idea.

    Hidden Team games: You would not be able to tell who your teammate is - and if either of you lose, your team is eliminated! This would really be awesome, as the amount of cloak-and-dagger shenanigans in this game would be hilarious. Imagine the shock as the sap over there eliminates his partner unbeknownst to him. :shock: I recommend that the armies of the leftover empire would be turned neutral in the even of a 3 team game. Also my idea.


Like them? I'll add more as the ideas come rolling in. Maybe we'll get someone higher up the ladder to admindom to look at this post.

1) The Uber Fog of War Battle Royale - might just happen next time. It was suggested as soon as (if not before) FoW was implemented.

2) This sounds extremely interesting. Alas, it would be both impractical to play and program. The forced attacking thing shouldn't be that difficult to program - you just remove the End Attacks button.

How would points be distributed? The loser gives points to all the "winners." You would almost never actually have a loser. Once the last two people got down to the last three terrs (they would just keep trading 1 terr back and forth). Almost like a build game. Well, I suppose that if you forced advancement of ALL troops each turn. But even that could be circumvented. Also, deployment would have to be adjusted so that you could only deploy to terrs where you had opps for adjacent to you.

3) Seeing as how this is a team game, but you don't know who your partner is and you are penalized for killing your partner - WHY would you ever kill anyone? I suppose if you made it into a Forced Attack game?

I'm not trying to be mean. Those were excellent creative ideas. Alas, they are fraught with game play and programming issues. Keep those creative juices flowing.

Ah, good point about the tthird one. I hadn't thought about that. *puts thinking cap on some more*
