You won't get much in the way of quality participation if flame trolls are allowed to run rampant in the forums.

I'm all for free speech, but in my living room I expect polite behavior or you'll be out the door.

I'd like to see the same standards applied here. I doubt I'll get my way, but it sure looks like it's heading in the right direction.

Being a Mod sounds like a great thing. But the abuse they recieve for doing their job is more than most on CC could handle.

Most of the ones I have seen that want it have had a lot of childish outbursts and would have trouble getting or even keeping the respect of this community. So if it is something that you would one day aspire to then you need to make plans for it now.

You know everytime you write something in the forums, it can com back and haunt you, so... Treat all with respect. Play and have fun, But do it with out being childish and vindictive.

You get bombarded with PMs (I'm already getting 30+ a day, I know older mods get more)

You get people screaming random, and usually uncohesive streams of profanity at you.

And your score generally drops

Ms Kitten - you actually have a bit you "as an average person" can do about mods.
Get in touch with me, let me know what your problems with them are, give me examples of where they went wrong and I will work with the current mods to change their posting style, attitude, or whatever it is your beef is

And I have already ignored one person who forgot to read the "dont call me" sign at the mod door
I say it not to save myself sifting but because a lot of people who "volunteer" are just in it for the power - and that's never a good reason because it gets real old, real fast.

In my opinion this is a good change. As much as I love the mods I felt that there needed to be a few changes in the forums, regarding locked threads and stuff. Also, it would be nice to see a few of the old, dedicated hands getting their opportunity/reward to do more for the site

As for the first part, I'm not a mod yet, but I would like you to consider the fact that while I can be quite level headed I also have some new ideas and forum modding experience that I could bring to the table.


Also, I ignore most new trolls for at least a month until they start thinking they are valued posters which is when I go at them, which if I was a mod I could warn them earlier.
