oh oh here's one: when you have so many different kinds of forum conversations, that you get confused with your conversations in RL and do one of two things:

1. in a forum convo, mention as proof/speculation what your friend in RL said, when you actually heard it from a CC user in another thread

2. telling your RL friends things you heard from CC discussions

when you get fired and they still have to carry you and your chair away from the screen

Hi, I don't think I'm addicted to the forum... this is the only the second time i'm browsing through, but then this caught my eye:

I think its just leet/lazy talk for pawned.

THIS IS NOT TRUE!

"pawned" meaning basically "owned" in internet chat actually came AFTER and DIRECLY FROM "pwned". When "pwned" got popular, lots of semi-adicts who learn this words and then prefer to add the vowels back in mis-interpretted "pwn" (which is suposed to be pronounced "pone") as being pronounced like "pawn" and put the "a" in. Thus, the word "Pawn" is utterly stupid and nobody should use it. a pawn is the weakest peice in chess, and is used as a metaphor for a numerous group of weaklings. How in the world does a word meaning lots of weaklings end up meaning beating somebody at something (usually a conflict of some sort)?

Anyhow... yeah, what the other guy said about pwn comming from own being misspelled... that's never been confirmed, or course, but it makes sence and is as good a theory as any, and I belive it and have known it for a while anyway. and... yes, "pwn" is now officially part of l33t.

Now, drop "pawn" from ur internet vocab and feel free to call the next person you see using it stupid.
