Yes, you're right, it is Irreversible - not the easiest of films to watch I grant you, what with the opening titles, the dizzying camera angles and the relentlessly pounding, nauseating low-frequency noise playing over the whole of the ultra-violent club scene..and all this before you even get to the fate of poor Ms Belucci's character! - little wonder then that according to Newsweek magazine this was the "most walked-out-of movie of the year" (2002). But having said all that, if you do make it to the penultimate scene, you are rewarded with a glimpse of true love and intimacy, played out as only a real-life couple could, which for me, puts the whole of the film into context and makes this one of the most powerful, thought-provoking movies, I have ever seen.

Ok, film review over - it's now your turn! :D

It is a hard movie to watch - in two particular places, as you know. But it's interesting you mention her fate; you learn that early on. And as a result, i found the film's ending all the more depressing for its beauty. We are all fucked by time and fate and there is nothing we can do about it. I did like the film very much, though. And Vincent Cassel is quite possibly the luckiest man alive.

Contains field or crops, possibly American setting judging by the house. Includes Amish looking chaps, as well as a plague of locusts by the look of it.

Conclusion: NO FRIKKEN IDEA

I know what you mean about the ending. It is heartbreaking to see just how connected these two are, knowing that their world is about to be cruelly ripped apart. But for me it is strangely uplifting at the same time - I feel privileged to witness this couples love for each other, to share in their most intimate moments, moments that add poignancy to Marcus' impending turmoil and set the early scenes apart from the usual mindless violence we see so much of in cinema today.

And yes Mr. Cassel is indeed a very lucky man. His wife is absolutely stunning...why even I fancy her!
