I think their both pretty good. Not really a Heavy Metal Person.

OnlyAmbrose wrote:Metallica by far. Megadeth puts way too much effort into trying to make their lyrics deep, political, and meaningful, it just comes off as stupid. "United Abominations" is one of the greatest musical embarrassments in the history of mankind (here I'm referring to the song, not the album, the latter of which wasn't too bad...)
For Whom the Bell Tolls is easily one of my favorite songs.

Well to me they just sound dumb when they're sung. I mean, if you take Megadeth lyrics and just read them like paragraph I guess it wouldn't be too bad, but when it's sung in a heavy metal song it's just kinda ridiculous.
Political songs never really tickle my fancy. To be fair, I'm not much of a fan of Metallica's "...And Justice for All" either.

Didn't they both come out about the same time? When the Black album came out, Metallica took that leap ahead of Megadeath. Before that, that sounded about the same to me.

They were founded practically at the same time.
The lead for Megadeth used to be in Metallica, until they kicked him out.

Eh, I still like them, some maybe similar, but their last album, "Stiff Upper Lip" was a Jazz album.unriggable wrote:muy_thaiguy wrote:I prefer Metallica, but AC/DC is my favorite band.
Their songs are too similar for my liking.
