You know nothing about the game if you say that.

I was thinking the same thing but PCM beat me to the punch.

Halo 3 is forced to meet so much hype and bungie has learned from Halo 2's flaws. They are ready to make a game that will break sales records and they have prepared for it. They aren't scared to put down the money necessary to build an insane amount of hype either. If Halo 3 does not meet the hype bungie is going to have a ton (well over 5 million) fans pissed as hell. In the end. Halo 3 is forced to shine or halo will be a disappointment that will go down in video game history.

SSBB on the other hand also has to meet a certain amount of hype. This is Nintendo's flagship fighter. If it isn't good people are going to lose faith in Nintendo and the wii. Nintendo has taken it's own sweet time to bring out it's big mascots. The Super Smash Bros. games have been great party games. It's going to be the same SSB but with characters that are unique and not clones, maps that have interesting twists, and a control screen that will meet every players personal play style.

These games are going to be great. They have a great history and the developers have the experience needed to make amazing games.

I am so lost. Is this the Halo 3 vs SSBB topic? :?

Anyway, I have yet to purchase a Wii. I probably won't until their real games are finally out. Mario Kart, SSB, and their standard Mario in 3d platform (galaxies for this one). I actually haven't even played a Wii. What are the Wii titles that are making it fly off the shelves still? I don't get it. I still haven't seen one in a store, so it isn't like I could buy one even if I wanted to today.

So for me the Wii doesn't seem like it's rocking the house, at all. I haven't seen one, I haven't played one, I haven't been in contact with anyone that has. There are XBox 360s everywhere though. *shrug*

Anybody heard anything about a gears of war 2?

And does Halo 1 work in the 360?

No but it's halfway there. You need a blend of sweet graphics and churning gameplay to make a game.

Yeah, I guess so. Games are much more absorbing with graphics but the situation has to be convincing enough to really be good. Music counts for a lot also.

actually music and graphics don't matter to me much. I'd much rather, turn it on mute and get some CDs or tapes to listen to while playing. Graphics are another meh thing.

So why has the Wii been successful? Usually when Nintendo are struggling, they play the Pokemon card (50 more Pokemon this time around? YES!) but it seems they really have stuck gold with the Wii.
Did it capitalise on the failures of Sony and Microsoft? Or is it a painful reminder that some of us actually like our "retro" games. Dear dear...

Graphics enhance the game. They can not stand alone and make a game great. Same thing with music. But people can turn music off it they hate it. If the game is broken gameplay wise the graphics will not do anything to change that. People will not play a game if it is not fun. I'm sorry guys who think the graphics are "all that and a bag of chips" they aren't.

No, Kyle made a stupid comment that only shows his ignorance. I am for both games.

Don't remember who said, don't wanna look back. Ok who ever told me look back in twenty years on if there was going to be a Wii 2? Thing is motion technology on that level is already on the way out and full body immersion is on the way in. I have a huge bet going right now with my best friend if theres going to be a major complete virtual immersion console next gen. Would you really want the exact same set up as Wii on a Wii 2? There will be no Wii 2. Market studies are showing people are already bored with it. There was a big one on Digg a little while ago. And Minster Masket are you serious, Did you ever friggin play Chronicles of Riddick? It was a HUGE hit. Magazines still talk about how Starbreeze studio, a nobody, came out of no where with this amazing game. The new one/remake is massively anticipated and will easily have sales on par with Bio-Shock, which currently stands at .75 Million.

Minister Masket wrote:1) Not enough people play Metal Gear Solid. It's criminal, the series is brilliant.

2) Not necessarily. Killzone 2 comes out summer next year (?) so the hype about Halo 3 will be well over by then.

1. Wrong, Plenty of People play it, and if companies would get their heads out of their ass and make sure it gets on the 360 a lot more.

2. Um Wrong agian. Did you ever see the Sales chart for Halo 2? Carried well over into the next year strong. Hell for a full year it sold strong. Took 2 years to drop off the Top Played games list. Took 17 Months to fall of the #1 X-Box Live spot. Killzone 2 is hugely anticipated as well, Killzone was a horrible game. Which was comically shown in one of my favorite videos.

BtW Just to let you all know, I'm not really ad venting for the fall of Nintendo, I'd buy a Wii if I had the cash, I have every other console Nintendo ever made, except for a gamecube(which all get around to getting someday). I just really don't want to see Nintendo on top again, last time they made an ass out of them self and it led to one thing, The PS3. I've got an article on it somewhere all try to find it. I'm just a huge support of the X-Box because of the simple fact that its in Microsoft's hands. And do you know what that means? They have so much money to throw at game devs that they can eventually get all but those Brand Exclusives(I.E. Mario, Zelda.) on board. People like to say the X-Box will die out but the fact is sales have been huge and the games coming in have been great. In my wildest dreams I would love to see a merger with the Wii's creativity and the 360's shear good gaming element.

too bad, I guess it doesn't sell like it should, which is why its not too important. Do you know how Nintendo got Snake as a character in Brawl? Kojima basically begged them to put him in :-k

that's not all. Are you saying that 50% of a good game is due to graphics!?!? ever heard of a little series called GTA? While graphics are eyepleasing, and if I was a game designer I would want to design the 3D characters more than anything, its all in the gameplay, everything afterwards just helps it along.

That's one one thing about the GTA series that I didn't like.
A series like Final Fantasy makes GTA look like Pong.

Oh and don't forget that the 1st MGS game was on a Nintendo system. I forget which one, the Gamecube?

No, all the Metal Gear Solid games have premiered on the Playstation.

The first Metal Gear game was released on the MSX2 and ported to the NES the same year.

. . . except they're completely different. If you had said the first Metal Gear game was originally released on the NES, hence Snake's inclusion, and I had pointed out it was actually on the little-known MSX2 first, that would be splitting hairs. I just answered a question YOU asked, albeit in an indirect way.
