Hehe, Scots, over here!

Postby Skittles! on Thu Aug 16, 2007 12:15 am

Recently I found out (to be precise, Wednesday and Thursday) that I am related to King Robert of Scotland and Robert De Bruce, King Bob being 17 great grandfathers away and Bob De Bruce 19 great grandfathers away.

I also found out that my family was once Lord Of the Isles. Last name being MacDonald.

Even before that I'm related to the Pict royal line and Irish royal line.

Too bad all those lines have all disappeared to the halls of history. And of course there would be many bastards and such from this, but I know it, and some may not \:D/

I was going to find the thread "People you are related to that are famous", but yeah, I'm really not bothered.

Oh come on! My mum goes on some website and finds out all the family tree stuff, and I don't have a link.

Though, my mother did draw it all up, and such.

What's your point? Most of my family's ancestors participated in the battle of Hastings (Normans side), and one moved to Galway County Ireland and became one of the dominant families there (Joyce) and I still have family there.

What's either of your points? I'm descended from Jesus Christ Himself, but you won't see me making topics about it.

Obviously! Everything on the Internet is true, like, let's see, all the conspiracy theories.
And man, my mum did all this research herself and I'm pretty sure my mum wouldn't lie.

f*ck man, now I'm sounding like a whiny shithead.

yeah, I'm just tired, I got to school 45 minutes early in hopes that I would be first in line to sign up for a locker, but when I got there the line was already filling up the hallway ](*,)

Wow, now that Scotland is part of the UK it must be worse than I thought. I know much of the population including some of my relatives have fled for the new world however.

When the royal line packs it in and heads for 'merica, that's pretty bad.

You do realise that if you factor in say 4 children for each family member (we're ignoring intermarriage, but that is a factor), 18 or 19 generations makes you one of maybe 200-300 million people who can claim that single ancestor?

Marvellous.

In other news I am related to both Adam and possibly Eve.
