swearing/ rude behavior should be punished

Postby dakotajammin on Sun Aug 05, 2007 10:10 am

i believe that if someone is swearing and being rude to you, it can be in the counquerclubs admins best interests to seeing if the player is being rude in a harsh way that if this happens a ban of their account happens for maybe one hour to start, then if it is repeated, the ban goes for maybe 12 hours, and then a day and so on

i am 15 years old and i suppose i dont mind the swearing. it just doesnt make this a happy place at times when someone is threatening to give neg. feedback, calling you names and so on

Yeah. As people say, use the ignore list. A wonderful thing.

Also, rest assure that encountering some textual abuse in here will better prepare you for venturing out into the public sphere as an adult. And you may even pick up a word or two that you didn't know before.

Happy place? The world is a horrible, decadent and violent place. CC is just a reflection of this sorry state of affairs. You can be happy when dead.

And, if people crosses too many lines, being abusive all over the forums and in various games, they can be banned. This seems to work pretty good, there are not that many totally obnoxious people roaming around. And we all loose our heads from now and then. If the mods would have to deal with isolated instances of cursing, well, we would need 200 new mods. And we don't want that. Beware of Big Brothers, once they arrive, it usually never ends pretty. Better dead than unfree.

I'm 15 and I swear too.

Although, I'd probably put this in the flame wars if I were you, they'd handle it better, and quicker there ;)

Go f*ck yourself sideways asshole!

Nah, nothing wrong with a bit of swearing if it is deserved. Otherwise, the ignore list it this way:

Just so you know, I believe the phpBB forum upgrade will include an ignore list that hides posts and blocks PM's from people you put on it. So if you come across people you'd rather not hear from again, you can do so.

How many people do you have on your ignore list, Andy?

I don't think cussing should be dealt with. I cuss all the fuckin' time, it's nothing. I'd say if some one is just plain being rude to you, add then to your ingore list. If everyone does that, eventually that person won't have anybody to play with.

Stopping someone from saying something that you do not want to hear is the heart of fascism. You are within your rights to not listen. You are a fascist if you take steps to stop someone from speaking.

Now, shut the f*ck up!

By saying "Now, Shut the f*ck up!", wouldn't that be taking a step to stop someone from speaking? I'm so confused! Also, what would that make you if not a fascist, just an asshole?

If you would all like to argue and flame, head towards the Flame Wars forum. ;)
