I'm an electrician sometimes so I'm somewhat used to getting laid off several times a year. Usually it comes just before Christmas which is really fun. I tend to expect it.

Last year I was working and the foreman kept telling us there was work until june etc. Two weeks before Christmas sure enough he goes and smokes four of us, it was terrific.

We totally were not budgeting properly because we niavely fell for his tales of upcomming work.

It's still affecting us financially and emotionally. You just have to keep positive and carry on.
