Any Artists?

Postby Darkfire001 on Thu May 11, 2006 9:01 pm

Hey guys,

I'm part of an MMO RTS Project, once called TerraWars (until Domain expired and the domain was purchased).

We are an established project, with a working game engine and a few dedicated team members working on completed the first half (RTS) element of our MMO RTS tenatively called "Galactic Siege" (Since TerraWars is no longer a viable option). Its a Cross Platform project so most linux dis & windows support it.

Anyways, as you can see its got pretty poor graphics, were looking for an indivual who wants to have some fun making units, buildings, and assorted items for the game and can dedicated just a bit of time towards it :) As much or as little, as long as you put a reasonable effort towards creating some game content.

I can provide some more descriptions of what were actually looking for in terms of content creation, but I'm only interested individuals with some prior art skills. Particularlly those who doodle characters in their spare time :P (Nice chance to get that crazy sketch into play).

I'm looking for at least two individuals, and all you need are some artistic skills and basic computer understanding, preferrably graphic arts skills though, since we've got a guy who can make a hell of a paper sketch, but has no ability to translate that to the screen.

We will explain the entire process of importing characters into the game, once we find a couple interested individuals, but we'll walk you through every step. Our actual coding team will code the character into the game (stats, etc).

JUST looking for designers, our C++ Coders are already skilled, and all other necessary positions filled :)

Have some fun :)

You should have pawned it off like you knew that already. The way you replied led me to initially believe you were telling me GFY because I bumped an old topic.

like OMG! it's the concept computer of the future! it's sort of like the iPhone in the touchiness, but..yeah that's basically what it is. however, the hologram screen itself is actually touchable, and one can use their finger as the cursor/ mouse. the alternative mouse is for games and all that (which will actually be in 3D view)

Corel painter is the best traditional style emulator. I have IX and I don't think it is free to download, but Corel Painter X is out so you could probably find a free demo of that somewhere.

Don't think so, it would be well worth the money though if you like digital art or are interested in it

I guess I'm interested... how much did you buy it for?

and if you don't mind do you have a piece that you made in it that you "worked harder" in, so I can see some fuller effects?

Well I got mine from a friend who got it from uni

And I dont really do much in it this is like the first thing I've done in some time and I was just playing around with colours and decided to make it into a semi-identifiable landscape

I think wcaclimbing uses it though.
