How does one lose 0 points without winning?

pyro55 had about 100 points at the time of loss and the winner had about 1000. Shouldn't pyro55 have lost 2 points?

Winers score=1000
losers score=100

(100/1000)X20=.1 x 20=2

so yes if pyro had 100 points he should have lost 2 so I would say he probably had less than 100 at the time.
I have an IQ of 195. Of course my answers are different!

How do you know he had 100? At one time he was down to 1 point so it may have happened then...

Person with ONE lousy point

Postby Aerial Attack on Thu Jul 19, 2007 2:56 am

Person with ONE lousy point (This brings up some interesting questions):

Is there a point floor (i.e. you the lowest # of points you can have is 1)? After all, 0 would cause severe problems - all games with you would result in ZERO points lost (0 divided by anything and then multiplied by 20 is still 0) and Infinite (or floating point error) Points won. As for games where your current value is negative, you would LOSE -x points for a loss (meaning you gain points and the winner LOSES points).

Is there a point ceiling? After all, a person could hit the floor (1 point) and then join a 6 person standard game with 5 deadbeat newbies - resulting in a gain of 100,000 points (from a single game - without actually doing anything, but beginning turn at least once) !!!

EDIT:

I just realized that ANY game involving a person with ONE point should end with someone having ONE point. Seeing as how the point floor is 1. You can only gain whatever the other person has to give (right?). Assume head to head. Person A has 1 point. Person B has 100 points. If person A loses, then they deserve to lose 2 points, but the point floor forces it to be Zero. If, on the other hand, Person B loses, then person A gains ((100/1 )* 20) = 2000. Alas, Person B only has 99 points available to give. They ALL go to Person A. IT is now Person B's turn to have 1 point.

the game only finished a few hours before I posted and he had 98 at the time and I don't see any wins between the time of his loss in that game and my post.

Of course he joined an obscene amount of games and I guess it is possible he could have won a game in that 6 hour time period....but that sucks to have gained 0 points from someone.

I am assumming he would have had to have had less than 25 points (assumming they round up .5 to 1) at the time of the loss.

I believe the minimum one can have is 1 point, at which point defeating you is worth 0 points. I don't know of a point ceiling, but you couldn't get 100k points from a single game because the max you can take from each loser is 100 points.

I show pyro with 1 point, and he's been at 1 point for awhile now. He cannot lose anymore points, hence the zero point loss. Since the game ended yesterday, I doubt he had 100 points then, or he would've had to lose about 90-something games in one day to get back down to 1 point today.
