I doubt that anyone can just say "I'm going to be gay" and then that's it.

The gay friends that I have have all told me that it was not a conscious choice on their part, any more than my being heterosexual was a conscious decision on my part. Other friends that I've had who "were gay" when I met them but ended up in a straight marriage or other straight relationship either said that they were experimenting or are attracted to both men and women.

If she's just made a conscious decision that "okay now I'm going to be gay" then I doubt it will last too long.
