And before you say "win games" im being serious. I average around 34% wins in mainly 2's or 4's games. So what am I doing wrong~?

play high ranked opponents
play 6 player singles games for higher points per win
play triples games for higher percentage chance of wining ( points are split between 3 players for win )

I'm serious too.

In all of my Conquer Club experience, winning has yielded the highest point gain.

So win games.

To raise your points to about 1800-2000, I recommend Terminator, Sequential, Escalating, Unlimited, 6 player and on your favourite map, and you'll be up there in no time. However you can't get much further than that unless your super super good, or you play lots of team games :P

I usually start my own terminator, flat rate, sequential games. Then a few n00bs join, they deadbeat, and then i treat them as neutral countries and kill the stronger players. then I pin the last player thats still alive into a corner and i kill the n00b deadbeats. It brings about 80-100 points whenever the plan actually works....

win games...

naah i havnent actually done this, but i guess if you got really good at some obscure maps. then played loads of games on that map - your knowledge would get you a higher percentage of wins because other people may be new to that map

play escalating games, terminator or standard it does not matter. just don`t attack 1st take you time and look at what cards the others have. then you can realise how many armies you will get when you cash in and if it is feasible to attack someone with a lot of cards,

QFT  but i prefer terminator, its a kind of safety net just in case your luck runs out on eliminating the last player, and they unleash their escalating cards on you and steal all the points

Ya! thats what i have been doing!
I have been playing loads of maps on the Indochina maps and i am getting a lot better at it. Since other people generally dont play that map a lot, i get a lot of easy kills there.

I am at a 34% win, so it is not that you do not win enough - it is the type of games you play. Try playing mostly terminator, escalating with 5 or 6 players on a map you are very familiar with.

that way even if you lose you get points for anyone you take out

Get a skilled dedicated partner or two and play freestyle doubles or triples games.

I agree with the escalating terminator 6 player scheme.

When I first started playing, I did team up with a good partner and he and I built up a rather gaudy w/l record which certainly helped our rating. However, those that feel that team games are the fast way to the top are only partially correct. Team games in which seasoned partners take on pick-up games with noobs who haven't played together is really what they're talking about. Because my doubles partner and I continue to play many of the same players (because we all know each other from another message board), and our aggregate rating is much higher than theirs, and they've all played enough to know what they're doing, we've seriously hit a point of diminishing returns. We typically only gain about 30 pts each per game but lose 25 and, at this point, we're barely winning 50% of the 3 team games we're in (unlike the 70% before when we figured out the concept faster than the rest). So, in that respect, we're pretty much just treading water.

I've made my biggest leap by playing singles games against highly rated players. Of course, that ends up requiring some luck because you're, of course, less likely to win. In these games, you can rarely expect any freebies or bad moves from anyone, so you really have to be patient and wait for someone to fall short in an elimination attempt or some other poor fortune.

Long story short, you need to play better and win more. You need to arm yourself with an odds calculator and be smart about the risk/reward element of the game. Play flat-rate terminator games and don't go crazy trying to eliminate players like many are inclined to do. Taking a player out but weakening yourself to the extent that you get quickly eliminated afterwards gains you nothing. Playing a terminator game and being the last man standing earns you at least around 20 pts.

Always remember that you typically need to get as many armies from the cards you get for taking out a player as you are likely to spend in eliminating him (pretty much as many armies as he when you begin the take-out run).

Don't be a martyr and spend 10 armies trying to break up someone's 3 army continent bonus. You're just doing everyone else's dirty work. Don't waste 30 armies protecting the same if it comes at the expense of being in position to launch a key attack.

If you have no easy attacks (against 1 or 2 army countries) and don't stand to gain strategically by attacking a well protected territory, just fortify and sit tight instead of wasting a bunch of guys just to get a card that is basically worth no more than about 3 armies at best. Of course, late in an escalation game, this doesn't apply since cards become all important.

I think that is a very cheesy way to increase your score. Of course, if you play freestyle, you'd better be prepared to go against guys who are happy to camp at their computer day and night for the sake of a win.

I disagree... if you are waiting for that you will not win very many games - you need to plan in advance, be clever and take calculated risks... even then you are doing very well to win more than 25% of your 6 player games.

Apart from that I generally agree with what you are saying... although everyone will find their own way to get points depending on their strengths. For me I started with mainly 3 to 6 player flat rate games until I hit about 1600 points and since then I have mainly played 6 player escalating singles and 4 player doubles. I have not played a single terminator game, but I hear that it is a bad idea to play them once you achieve too high a rank because you are an automatic target to other players.

Your advice is very sound and the original poster would be well served to follow it. Personally I think it is more easy to gain points if you are good at escalating because you don't have to rely on the moves of others so much. In flat rate one irrational player can mess your game up.

Only losers play the same map over and over.

CC is not fucking rocket science. It doesn't take long to figure out the best strategies per map, game type, etc.

Figure out what works best where, best way to do this is to observe other players. See how they do things, take their tactics and little tricks that you've picked up from other maps, and games, and adapt them.

Sitting playing only one or two maps, makes youa shit player. It might earn you some points. But I guarantee you'll get blown away when you try different things because the only strategy you know is the one you repeated over and over in the one type of game

Edit: Genghis Khan CA, play terminator games with players of equal rank. Terminator games are very entertaining, you are only depriving yourself.

I disagree sure if you play the same map for points maybe. But if you like a map a lot what is wrong with playing it a lot.

Well, as I read my post again, I think that one point was a bit to absolute. I should have said something to the effect of "be patient and wait for something like someone falling short on a take out run." In general, those high ranking games, while great for points, do test your skill. Like playing chess against a quality opponent, you are not likely to survive a bad move or, in this case, even a bold move not met with decent fortune.
