visually, yes, but according to my coach (and I would trust him with anything relating to sports) the swinging technique of tennis and golf are exactly the same. maybe thats why I'm able to hit farther than my grandpa even though he has been playing for years and I've only been playing for about 2 weeks every year...

It is very close to it.

I know I am not Ronaldinho, but football means so much to me, it is just I also play other sports as well.

*By the way Ronaldinho, I am more of a Dado Prso fan, I hope that does not make me any less of a footballer then you.
I am also a Barry Ferguson fan, I guess that is because I am a Gers fans.

Prso, wow, pretty good player, and we all know about Ferguson, so they aint complete world class, but i bet most teams wouldent mind having them on there pick list.

i used to play alot of tennis, played a few tournaments around asia until i was about 15. was gonna go play at the tennis academy in spain, however i was in a car crash and it destroyed my knee, basically killing my chances at ever playing professionally  i can walk fine and everything but after about 15 minutes my knee rlly aches and i have to take a break, which obviously u cant do in a tennis match  so only play socially now.

wow thats good.

AS for the shoulder issue try using the knees and body-rotation to generate more power and not pressurise the arm/shoulder too much.
Or try a more eastern like grip on your shots for a similar reason.

BTW what grip do you all use i am a semi western. but there are an increasing number of kids in continental/western grips since Nadal.

(any advice from you huys as to my original issue, i suddenly playing softball tennis

boberz about the grip thing I am constantly confused about this western/eastern thing... I am not sure if they mean that people in the west hold it one way and easterners hold it the other way, or if west just means left side and east means right side :?

if it is the latter, then I use continental for volleys, west for backhands, and east for everything else

erm i think it is about where and who they wer developed by.

For an eastern imagine and old serve volleyer e.g. Mcenroe

and western Nadal (seach google images for examples they are easy to come by)

Maybe it's the fact that you were overly confident?
How is anyone here supposed to be able to help you with your strat, though, when you haven't been overly specific about what happened?
As for grips: Fk'ed if I know  As I said, I've never had coaching, I taught myself at the age of 4, so I probably have some unique way of holding it that would make any self-respecting coach run for the hills  Someone tried to show me the correct way of holding the racquet years ago, but it just didn't feel right. I figured why change what was working for me, anyway? Who cares how you hold the racquet as long as it feels right for you and it's winning your shots :D

 wow... I've never had any of those expensive lessons but I did have school coaching... don't know what that counts for

and I don't know about my coach, he would probably get in your face and give you a trainer grip and make you play a match with someone that you could normally beat with ease except now he's flushing all this new stuff down your head and its confusing

he can be an ass sometimes

Can I hijack your account too and change your avatar to Federer?

I'm pig-headed, though, and if he tried to make me do something I didn't like I'd probably tell him where to go and start playing my own game, or walk off the court  Why try and win with a new way, when the old way works fine? As the saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
