You mean
SNUS, don't you!?
I read about this stuff ages ago - it's supposed to be different from chewing tobacco. I don't see how it's very different from nicotine chewing gum, though.
... Well, it's popular in the US. In rural areas, anyway. Smoking is a fire hazard in barns and the like, so everybody dips (to dip = to use smokeless tobacco). Some guys chew the real McCoy - Redman and what not, but it's not so popular.
... These companies (which make smokeless tobacco) send product promoters to college campuses in the US, passing out free cans as samples. They insist it's a great way to keep awake for studying.
... The Swedish snus is by comparison to its US counterparts, healthy. That is to say, most Swedish snus contains tobacco, salt, water, and flavoring (many don't have that, actually). US smokeless has all manner of chemicals, added after extensive testing to get folks addicted as quickly as chemically possible. It also contains preservatives to give it a long shelf-life, and these are the things that can kill you. Formaldehyde is one such ingredient.
... Probably a lot more than you cared to know, Stopper, but I quit dipping some time ago, and I've studied up.
... Spitting tends to turn ladies off.... unless of course they dip as well (I've only known one).
