Also, it's kinda far to go for anything less than a brain transplant.:P Anyways, Moore basically proved his point without having to incorporate you guys. Whats medical care like over there, anyways?

I have a friend who thought Austria wasn't a country. He thought it had become Hungary.

Medical care over here, is free. Basically. You should ask Debra, she would know more of it though.

And sorry about the fucking idiots thing.. but is it really that hard to know the difference of a country that has Kangaroos and a country that used to be a battle ground?

I know Queensland's is sadly lacking, you hear some pretty bad stories. Like this one guy was waiting in the halls for 36 hours with his sister who had blood clotting in her lungs because they didn't have a bed for her. When she finally did get a bed they didnt admister the anti-clotting agent with enough care (wharfren?[sp]) and she died.

Oh yeah, it's free here, but the line ups are huge. The way they run things here.. it's pretty bad. I think it's free, anyway.

The Australian system sounds like the Canadian system, so that's probably why he didn't put it in. He put in the Canadians instead, as we're closer to home.

And Michael Moore offers solutions in the ways of showing you examples of other countries, and how they prosper from their ways.

PS if you have any problems with the links, just tell me. I didn't do that much reading into the sites they go to, so they could be completely off. Sorry if that is the case.

Well the problem is now that Steve Irwin is gone there is no spokes person with the word "crocadile" somehow worked into their name.

So here in North America, Australia seems like it's the other side of the world.

If you've ever gone to the emergency room, waited for 2 hours for treatment and then paid out the ass afterwards, you know. If you can't afford spousal insurance because it costs $200+ a month and you need the $$ for food instead, you know. awareness is all well and good, but if your not providing help w/ the solution then its not going to do much good. What does MM do w/ the money he makes off these films, donate it to charity, or buy himself another pint of Cherry Garcia? and its not like i disagree w/ some of what he says, but if i want to laugh at the Bush administration i just watch the Colbert Report or Daily Show, for free.

Yeah, but he's raising awareness.

Dude, he's a documentarian. It's his job to document problems, not to correct them. Does Ken Burns talk about ways to solve the Civil War? No, he tells us stuff we might not know otherwise, and piques our interest. Actually, I feel he presents arguments, and lets you think of solutions, as opposed to telling you what to think. Nothing wrong with a little faith in the viewer's intelligence, right?

Edited for non-contradiction.

1408 was pretty good. How was live free or die hard by the way? I absolutely hate michael moore, not just as a person but as a director. His movies get across to the masses because he basically twists as many obscure studies as possible into ways to scare people into believing everything that he says. I would have much more respect for his movies and his arguments if it wasn't for the fact that he was so blinded by bias. He doesn't care about our healthcare system, or how it stacks up internationally, he cares about getting his own turn in the spotlight, and seeing that the liberals get the power in the US. I actually don't know much about this movie to tell you the truth, so I can't talk that much about that, but I know Bowling For Columbine and Farenheit 9/11 were the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. He's just another liberal nut-job, conspiracy theorist as far I'm concerned.

This movie has NOTHING to do with conspiracy theories. I also find it unfortunate that the terrorists that your government worked so hard to find and capture, later put in Guantanamo Bay, get excellent health care. But 9/11 heroes get completely shafted by your government, and are left to die simply because they volunteered to help, instead of being paid by the government. They go to CUBA, big, bad, communist Cuba to get the treatment they need absolutely free!

This thread is also full of win. As I am watching the docu right now and noone is going to tell me that when the guy who fought for a bill to be pushed through congress gets a nice new job as the ceo of one of the companies that lobbyd doesn't warrant a closer look at that particular bill.

Seriously america, wtf?
