Dont mess with the mother ship!

dont remember everything it does, but you know the Protoss will have the most advanced technology. Terrans are adaptable, and the Zerg... Hell, they need a psychiatrist.

I'm actually more pissed by the fact that Zerglings can now explode. This means, obviously, that they have taken away the Infested Terran which, IMO, doesn't make much sense.

Really? I find that these new 'banelings' are a pretty cool addition to the game.

I find them redundant. Why make Zerglings explode when you have Infested Terrans? I'm going to assume it has something to do with the storyline, but still.

You're right, it doesn't fit the storyline, but still its really annoying having to go through the whole 'infest a command center' process just for some exploding units, so I think banelings is blizzard's attempt at making them more common.

Of course, they could just have more infected Terran units and eliminate the banelings entirely.

I can understand why you guys are angry that they replaced infested terrans, but it seems logical to have terrans come from infested terran buildings only (they can't be made from zerg buildings, that's just stupid). So since infeted terrans only come from this rare scenario, wouldn't it make sense to replace that unit entirely?

They should make the 'infest' unit a happy little gimmick. Realistically, infesting a CC wasn't viable in full-blown competitive play (only casual). As such I'd be happy if they kept the feature (which was fun and flavoursome) but made resulting unit(s) fun gimmicks, rather than essential additions to the Zerg's forces...

Yeah, but I don't think the infested terran was made just for laughs, it was made as a competitive measure like everything else. But I guess you're right in that it is pretty hard to infest conquerclub.

The tabletop game or the computer game? I'd play the tabletop game if it wasn't so god damned expensive.

The computer game, it lacks stradegy compared to SC

Agree, especially those uber-units like the baneblade that were impossible to take down.

Exactly, the f*ck is a point in putting a unit that pwns everything?

Plus defense bonus's? if i get in a hole i get an extra defense, if i run out in the open, no bonus, if i run through a graveyard, i get a negative, its so simple it makes me gag

i find myself trying to pull of some SC tactics that are non-exsistant in the game, theres no elevation bonus at all...It made me want to chuck my computer out the window :x

And another thing...How the hell do flags give you resources? kind of half assed idea was that?

Yeah, which is why I hate the mothership idea.

Eh, that part I thought was cool. Makes for interesting ambush situations.

Yeah the best part of SC is definitely the two level system with high ground and low ground, plus it makes mapmaking a hell of alot simpler.

And another thing...How the hell do flags give you resources? kind of half assed idea was that?

It was to make the player not have to worry about resources as much.

Eh i didnt like the defense bonus at all

that was the beauty of SC though, resources were actually more scarce! (depends on what map actually) that and how many workers you should have, etc...The flags was a total shit idea

hmm, first you complain about the Protoss. Then you support the exploding swarms... Your a Zerg Sympathiser!!!!

Only reason they would get rid of infested terrans is if the hybrids come in to play during the story line, doesnt make sense that they would just scrap them(makes the queen worthless too)

dude you dont even know, how much it costs, what other units the zerg and terran have gained and all your basing this on is the demo where blizzard was only showing you what the mothership could do, not its weaknesses, give it time, i'm sure their not stupid enough to make the mothership the be all and end all.

You obviously wern't playing very well if you couldn't take down an unsupported Baneblade.

The Relic units are designed in some cases to absorb firepower (the close combat ones) and in some cases to produce it (the ranged ones). What they are not meant to do is become a 1 man army.

DirtyDishSoap wrote:

Because DoW is about the strategy and combat rather than resource collecting. Hell, resource collecting dosen't even fit in with the W:40K universe; troops are trained and tanks produced far, far away on planets dedicated to manufacturing for the war effort. Having some guy go out and mine some crystals dosen't really fit that.
