Basically, if people are gross, the mind interprets that as "being evil". Unfortunately, we are blinded by our own gross-ness, so this comes out as xenophobia.

That is why we need an objective standard.

Most people use themselves as that objective standard. If I did that, I would be xenophobic to UK citizens since any country that allows meat and vegetables to be boiled until they are mush is obviously a barbaric nation. However, I am not that objective standard. Jesus is, and he commands us to be philoxenon - lovers of strangers.

OP asked about someone that smells bad. My sense of smell is shot. I couldn't care less of they stunk.

Now, if you're telling me if i would have a problem sitting next to a guy that looks like he was fed a small orphanage, then yeah, i would.
