I’m not saying it shouldn’t be legalized or at least decriminalized… I would be torn if asked to vote on a referendum.

We are already seeing some negative effects of the legalization of Marijuana. This is early in the ‘game’ so long term studies on the effects especially on younger people and pregnant women are not in. Obviously these groups should be abstaining, but the fact is that when it became legal it became more accessible to everyone. It’s also more potent.

These impact could be worse for coke.

One plus side I see, only anecdotally, is a reduction in consumption of alcohol among teenagers in favor of weed. I don’t know of studies that bear this out, but it seems to be the case at least in my kid’s peer groups. As compared with my experience in the 80’s.

I mean the initial reports placed the baggy in the residence, in the library. It was then later reported this was wrong and the baggy was found in a more ‘public’ space. So one of two things is true.
1) It was found in the library, but they realized this looked horrible so they decided to cover it up.
2) It was found in the public space, but they made an error in the initial reporting.

Neither of this is good… in the first case it would mean they are lying and covering it up; and in the second case it would mean that they are incompetent. Neither helps increase public trust.
