-------------I don't want to learn how to post Pictures/Videos, I stay more proper that way, might unleash a Pandora's box , if I learn... :D ...
------------------ But I would,(could someone), THANK YOU KINDLY....A TRUE GREAT AMERICAN....
----------- Hinmahtooyahlatkekt.../...CHIEF JOSEPH...,The Nez Perce...who for 3 months, 1,200 milesish, defeated 4 U.S. Army armies, as they chased Him and his people, twords Canada.....He never really was beaten by the U.S. troops...He was captured, under a flag of truce...By a dishonorable U.S. Cavalry Leader...But was traded back for captured U.S. army personal... Stopped 40 miles short of the Canadian/USA Border...It wasn't the U.S. Army that forced him to stop...It was the weather....COLD...and His people starving...He told the U.S. Commander in the Field....
------------'"I WILL FIGHT NO MORE FOREVER."....He was giving special protection By President R.B. Hayes...Anyone who bothers him, will be charged Federally...On His 1st visit to Washington D.C.(He would go 5 times)...As He road with a small band of his personal guard, a few U.S. army security....He would pass different Indian tribes...When going through Comanche territory...Over 500 Comanche road along, later He would finally get on a Train/Iron Horse ...When He saw the Eastern Cities of The U.SA...He was in awe, of the amount of people, and buildings...The rest of the trips He went by Train/Iron Horse...After meeting with His last U.S. President, Teddy Roosevelt...He went back to the NorthWest...Where his doctor said, nothing wrong physically , He died of a Broken...Heart... :( :( :( ....He is known as The Red Napoleon, by the U.S. Military...
... O:) ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion)... O:) ...But what I can do...38 days early....
------- HAPPY 183rd BIRTHDAY CHIEF JOSEPH/Hinmahtooyahlatkekt :!: =D> =D> =D> ...March 3rd, 1840 A.D...I know He went twords Montana, so He could go North and Join Sitting Bull in Canada...Why, didn't He just Go from Oregon, through Washington, into Canada, then travel through Canada to Sitting Bull...Was there a strong U.S. and British military strength in that route???

Why, didn't He just Go from Oregon, through Washington, into Canada, then travel through Canada to Sitting Bull...Was there a strong U.S. and British military strength in that route???

The reason Sitting Bull went North was to return to lands not yet occupied by the illegal immigrants making war with his people.

In 1840 there was no military presence in the mountains between British Columbia and the North West Territory which would later become part of Canada.
Because of the rugged terrain at the time it was almost exclusively bears and other animals. Very few people were there. Even less of those people would have travelled the walking trails to or from Canada.

To get from Washington state to Canada you would go south, ride a stage coach or catch a train to Chicago then go north there.

In 1870 Manatoba became the fifth Provence of Canada.

In 1871 a very isolated British Columbia joined Confederation under the condition that a railway be built in the next ten years from Canada, through the North West Territories, then over the mountains to connect them.

In 1882 Rogers pass was discovered by guys walking mountain trails with pack horses, it was used to shorten the route by crossing the Selkirk and Rocky Mountains.

Because of the many fatalities caused by dangerous and destructive avalanches there, in 1916 the Canadian Pacific Railway built the Canaught tunnel.

------ Exactly, The U.S. Military would never Expect it...Outside the box....The USA had forts in Washington/Oregon after Fighting the ..Rogue River Wars in the 1850's A.D...
----------Instead of hurling right into , The area, the U.S. Military had a strong presence.... Because,of The Sioux wars...Yes, The British had an alliance with The Indian Confederacy, but might not have wanted to ripple relations with The USA, after two wars...I am sure they were routing for Chief Joseph...But if it got that close, Chief Joseph running, right twords the border, The U.S. Calvary firing at them... British infantry right on the border, would they fire at the U.S. Calvary...So , The Nez Perce can make it...Or hold them up, so the U.S. Calvary catches them...

--------That is exactly what happened at the Battle of Bear Paws...Nez Perce scouts had reached the Canadian Border, sent word to Chief Joseph, That British soldiers were there...But Chief Joseph knew , the women and children could not make it...So , He sent word to U.S. Commander Howard...For the sake of the women and children... Let's stop this...Could have been looking at a 3rd war between....The USA and The British... ... O:) ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion)... O:)
--------Yes, it could be scary, untraveled....20 Grizzly Bears almost wiped out The Lewis and Clark expedition.....They made it...
------------ Lawrence of Arabia, attacked Aqaba, The Turkish Guns, aimed out guarding the Red Sea..from the desert, which the Turks and everyone else, thought impossible...
------------- The French didn't protect the Ardennes forest because they thought it was impassible with tanks....The Germans rolled right on though....
------------ Nothing is impossible....If you try...

..Nothing is impossible...
 Ride your bicycle over here and prove it,

Lewis and Clark were quite a way south of "Canada".

You seem to be under the impression Chief Joe could have went from Washington state to Vancouver in 1840, then rent a Dodge Stratus and drive to Banff for ham and eggs on his way to visit Jumping Badger.

Like I failed to explain to you. There was no Canada west of Ontario back then.

The rocky mountains north of the 49th parallel were practically impassible. Yes a few crazy guys, and eventually fur trappers, would walk around there exploring, but most people would not survive.

----------Canada became independent in 1867 A.D..British kept some troops for security....Also Could have been Canadian troops/mounties...There was The Hudson Bay Company, ..The Yukon, North Territory... Trading posts , Forts protecting them...With Canadian Troops,etc...or British troops...As for outside Montana that day...Which Red uniforms, any of the 3...Even if Canadian troops or mounties...at the area...Fired on U.S. Troops.... British would be involved... Although with India , the Far East, The British were spreading pretty thin....But they/ Red wearing uniforms...Were not the pursurers....Only the Finish Line....
-------- Chief Joseph, just missed...that line...He was born in 1840 A.D...The Battle of Bear Paws was Sept. -Oct..1877 A.D.(Yeah,Yeah,I know 1867 A.D...)
------- I used to ride across the Ambassador Bridge....Thanks to trucking....That stopped...in the mid 1980's A.D....Used to take my bike on the Tunnel Bus... Don't know if that is still allowed....But I could just Drive over the Bridge,or take the Tunnel....They are even building another bridge do to all the trucking...Nice try... :D
----------- Why couldn't Chief Joseph, ...If he wanted to... People walked from...St.Joe Missouri to The West Coast...I don't think that was a picnic......They didn't look for Dodge Stratus...to ride in....They just looked for Dodge City for supplies...See what I did, next time pick another car... :D
----------- South of Canada,so is Montana,Except Detroit,we are North of Canada... :D ...As for Lewis and Clark...you said, Canada had Bears and other animals...Yeah, Lewis and Clark met some of them, South of Canada...Wut/as you say..??? Only Canada has Bears and other animals...Good, more hunting for CHIEF JOSEPH and his people...
---------- What fail to understand???....Or ,you and people today fail to understand...you give up to easy...It is to hard, I can't do that......If Canada was so hard to live, get to...Why are you there now....Did negative vibes....Stop Terry Fox from running all the way across Canada...No... Unfortunately, cancer did,he would of made it....But Dave Proctor from Alberta...made it running clear across Canada....Tell me more stuff that people can't do...

Well if you seriously don't know why Chief Joseph couldn't "take his bike on the Tunnel Bus" I guess you are so far removed from reality there's no way to explain it to you.
Why are you there now

Because in the 1900s my ancestors rode the train here.

What's your favorite thing to do in Banff? Do you like waffle fries?

My favourite thing to do in Banff is to wait 12 hours and then have a ready-made excuse to ignore the wife for 3 days while I negotiate with repair shops!

Once I manage to get my wife there we usually get along fairly well. Though we don't seem to agree on how fun it is to drink beer at the Waldhaus.

Some might wonder why you needed a repair shop when you could have just walked home,

Einstein qualifies as he became an American Citizen in 1940 after fleeing Germany.

Chief Joseph would be considered “Native American” by today’s standards…but he would NOT have considered himself “American”.

Idiots be idiots.
