According to the monument's sponsors, the inscriptions are meant to guide humanity to conserve nature after a nuclear war, which the creators thought was an imminent threat.[8][10]

thermonuclear bomb, also called hydrogen bomb, or H-bomb, weapon whose enormous explosive power results from an uncontrolled self-sustaining chain reaction in which isotopes of hydrogen combine under extremely high temperatures to form helium in a process known as nuclear fusion. The high temperatures that are required for the reaction are produced by the detonation of an atomic bomb.

Yes, I thought the same thing, Jonesy.
Of course; good point, but it all depends on where the nearest nuclear bomb were to hit and explode. My understanding that the Guidestones were in a very remote and rural region of Georgia, but I did not evaluate the likelihood of a nuclear bomb strike nearby.
Obviously, distance is a major factor in the destruction energy of any bomb on a structure or on people.
btw: I think the better term here is a hydrogen (fusion) bomb or thermonuclear bomb; however, I understand your point.thermonuclear bomb, also called hydrogen bomb, or H-bomb, weapon whose enormous explosive power results from an uncontrolled self-sustaining chain reaction in which isotopes of hydrogen combine under extremely high temperatures to form helium in a process known as nuclear fusion. … and this is an example of how you are a fool Capt. Obvious.
EVERYONE else in the forum realized Jonesy was making a joke and the stones weren’t (couldn’t) be designed to withstand the direct impact of a thermonuclear missile. It was OBVIOUS and didn’t need to be stated.
You then come in and “agree” like it’s some major intellectual point… and then you continue to provide some quotes and links to ‘educate’ us all. These quotes/links don’t demonstrate that you’re smart (which is what you get off thinking they do), all they demonstrate is that you know how to Google.
Capt. Obvious

… I don’t think I have the patience to interact with you anymore.
Maybe someone else in this forum can explain to Capt. Fucknuts what I’m trying to say? I’ve been reading his dumb-ass posts for a couple/few years and I hit my breaking point. I think maybe there’s a tiny chance he could ‘get it’… but he won’t take this message from me because I’m a dickhead and have no patience to explain it to him in a kind manner.
because I’m a dickhead

It would be very unlikely for that area to be a target in a nuclear war. There are no strategic strongpoints or population centres particularly close. It would very likely have survived a war or anything else that didn't directly target it.

explain it to him ME in a kind manner.
