Local 'Pot Luck'. (for non-US types, that's where people bring a dish and everybody shares).
There was a raffle too, and I won a bunch of 'Summer Snacks', almost totally full of stuff I don't eat( three packs of commercial doughnuts, some sort of pop tart thing, etc)- and including an 'Easy Cheese', America's greatest culinary shame, aerosol cheese.
My dish was slow-cooked pork loin in a honey, butter and garlic sauce. It was so popular, I only got to taste the last tiny bit. It was bloody gorgeous, which made me sorry I hadn't snaffled some earlier (this was the first time I cooked it). It'll likely be a long while before I cook it again, as it requires about 5 pounds of meat, and needs a lot of people to eat it.
