I can’t read this shit.

Confused Confed thinks the shooter and his parents were liberals who have influenced the media to be biased towards their cause.

Seems to me the evidence points in exactly the opposite direction.

There was no overt political allegiance, but these people personify conservative beliefs. They knew their son was likely to harm someone, but they cared about his rights more than what might happen to others.

Liberals generally think about their own actions in view of how they will impact others.

Putting your own rights ahead of others is pretty much the conservative ideal.

This merely puts more divisiveness in the discussion.

To generalize, as Duk attempts to do, I will say liberals’ appeals are based on emotions and conservatives’ appeals are based on facts.

Conservatives do not advocate killing of innocents, which, based on what little we know, is the only motivation we know of in this case. Conservatives, as least those who are not extremists, do not advocate killing of someone to resolve issues. The 15-year-old killer "Lawyered up" so we know little of his motivation(s) at this point. To blame these killings on misconstrued conservative values is misleading and is not supported by the evidence so far.

The father bought a gun for his 15-year-old son (which, imo, is much too young to be in possession of a gun) and this is a very irresponsible act, whether he is a liberal, conservative, or apolitical.

For the mother to tell the boy to not get caught is also irresponsible. Both parents ignored the warning signs that their son may be a killer. We do not know why the gun was purchased for the boy, only that the boy wanted one and the irresponsible parents saw NO danger of this action.

Who is to blame will be debated as this case goes (or cases go) to trial. NOW to put a spin on this, we will hear lots of gun control advocates warn us of the dangers of guns. As I have already stated, there are too many guns in America. And there are too many guns in the hands of criminals and crazy and/or angry persons.

That's a nice thought, but... Mom is conservative and not shy about it. There is correlation here, even if the evidence is short of causation.

I think I mostly agree with your sentiment.

If I were a betting man I’d guess they are Conservative/ Republican.

That said… there are plenty of dumb uneducated trash Liberal/Democrats.

The parents are just bad parents and their political persuasion didn't make them bad parents.

A liberal might try to argue that these “conservative” bad parents put a gun in the kid’s hand. They may be right.

Anyone who defends a killer is not worthy of much. And anyone who kills, as this 15 year old is alleged to have done, is evil, regardless of his political views or those of his parents.

This matter is not a liberal vs. conservative matter. If the parents (of the alleged killer) behaved during the lead up to this massacre as reported in this thread (of the irresponsible actions), they deserve all the punishment that the legal system can and will likely deliver.

The real tragedy of this is is that in less than a year, this will be forgotten.

School shootings are pretty much a norm now.

Whether it's due to child neglect, gun safety/neglect, schools that do nothing to stop bullying or punishing kids standing up for themselves, the list goes on and its more broad than "dem liberals put us here!
