Hmmmm the article says nothing about “Republican Guard”/“Praetorian Guard” style powers/role. I think you are inferring something that’s not supported by facts or data Saxi. Is that possible? Funny how you refer to two famous “Guards”, both with negative connotations... whereas their role in protecting our new Presidentis more like that of the “Swiss Guard” protecting the Pope.

Yeah everyone wants a revolution or civil war who supported Trump. The problem with that it just doesn't happen in one day. It's a 24/7 commitment for months even years. You just don't stop because it's the weekend and have a bbq and a beer. Because those 81 million + that voted for Biden are not going to sit down and just say it's yours. And don't think the Republicans are the only one with guns. I'm pretty sure there a lot of Democrats that support the 2nd Amendment also. It gets kind of ugly when it starts. I hate to say it but a member here has a pretty good point. Some of the protesters broke windows to illegally enter instead of going through the door. However for the most part they did little damage.

Congress reconvened later in the day. Very interesting.

This is quite different compared to many of the protests we see where maximum property damage seems to have been an objective.
