Just remember, it's not a vaccine unless it comes from the vaccine region of france. Otherwise, it's just sparking antidote.

it's nice but awfully expensive. one of my best mates is from there; he invited me once... so we went to see it from his office with his coworkers. the view wasn't so great, and they had like beers in cans and awfull sandwiches. we then went to one of his friends's grandma terrace where the view was much better. Then I learned I owed the guys from his office 150€, like 1 week later... I was like.. are you serious? for that crap view, in an office that didn't cost anything to open on sunday just to watch the GP (they didn't even put it on a TV so you didn't really understand what was going on), and we left after 1/4th of the race because it was crap there??? and I'm told I owe 150€ one week later? my friend was so ashamed of that, that he paid for me as I was not willing to pay for that.. and I guess he didn't want to get in trouble with his boss... but that was just extorsion.
Also, went to see the team motorhomes and all, the paddocks and collected a bit of rubber from the streets conveted into a track. That rubber was crazy smooth.. tells you a lot about how sticky F1 tires are!

I hope I didn't ruin the thread by not saying something 100% positive :o

A friend of mine lives in Naples Florida and he sent me a pic the other day of him at trader joe's with a cart full of raclette cheese. From what I saw, the cheese had a strange yellowish colour while it's supposed to be more white, he told me it's because it's done with pasteurised milk otherwise it's not allowed in the country.
What is there in your special raclette? I eat some when I'm in the Alps, and it's quite basic... potatoes and you put the melted cheese on it... and add some ham and all sort of delicatessen from the mountains... a few pickles and maybe a bit of side salad to keep it balanced. I haven't had one in years... I'll ask my mum for one around christmas I guess, my daughter has never tried it yet.. i think

Not special, just that most people here have never heard of it....my parents discovered it en Suisse while visiting my uncle in the 60s and ever since we've enjoyed it...so simple and so good. I have two raclette pan sets as the cheese always goes fast.

We use Jarlsberg....fry up brats or other smoked sausage...my homemade hot spicy garlic dill pickles....red baby potatos...cherry tomatoes and green onion.

Such a fun simple unique dish...

It is gaining popularity as people love unique dining ideas...much like Poke from hawaii...been digging on that for close to 50 years and recently it's become a huge fad over here...simple and sooooo good...

you are either late to the fad, or it's late in getting to France. Poke shops starting popping up everywhere in the states around 2017-2018

Yep...what mookie said.

My last name is Kane (irish descent)...in hawaiian, Kane (kah-nay) means man. Had a friend in Kauai that was a poke dude and wanted to come to oregon so bad to live...wanted to go into biz with us about 10 years ago and start a poke place called Poke Kane (PO-kay KAH-nay) or Fish Salad Man

Coulda shoulda woulda....but logistics of having fresh selections with prices here...man what a nightmare.

Our go to is sushi grade maguro / ahi (yellow fun tuna), finely chopped white and green onion, soy, sesame oil and sesame seeds. BAM.

Love it in Kauai as every grocery store has a poke bar like ours have meat counters, with like a dozen varieties, all fresh....mmmmmm

PS - thanks frenchie for starting a nice thread =D>

We are peas in a west coast pond Kool... I think i first had poke somewhere around 2004-06 in Maui, everyone in my family makes it at home but just like the classic way with some kind of Tuna, white and green onion, soy, sesame oil and sesame seeds... other great adds are crushed macadamia nuts, furiyaki seasoning...

Great appetizer for a party, I prefer eating it on tortilla chips or crackers to the whole 'in a bowl over rice' thing that seems to be what really caught on mainstream.

Which Pokémon tastes best?

I think Pikachu is too small and doesn’t look like he has a lot of fat.

I think Snorlax looks delicious...

Where do you all get this? I’ve never seen Pokémon meat in my local A&P.

Mook....that's awesome manno....I had it first 50 years ago when I was 7  we go to kauai every 2 years and honestly, that is one of my fave parts, always grabbing a quarter pound of various types to snarf on the beach with beers. My eldest loves the California Roll version (not a fan). I dig a wasabi poke too.

I believe the "bowl" thing is popular on the mainland as you get more food / a small meal and its hella cheaper to bulk up with rice for the seller. I wish it was easier to post pix here. The grocery stores over there (especially small local ones) just sell the true pure poke; not on a bed of veggies or rice. Shit's so much cheaper over there as the store buyers just hang at a local dock and buy the fish from the local fishermen every morning. Like a dozen giant bins of different kinds all fresh daily made....ugh. Drooling thinking about it
