I don't remember what the maps were. I think original if that's a thing.

Then the wife printed out a second one. Some sort of a house. Gameplay was the same, you just tried to go from certain rooms to other rooms instead of cities. I like trains so original was fine for me.

It's ok, pretty fun, our son is a sore loser but we can get through this game ok partially because it's tough to know where you stand until the final tally.

interesting i havent seen a version with a house before, i have europe and new york, i like classic as it is a good way to learn the basics, and is a nice simple map

europe has tunnels and ferries, adds alot of dynamics to the game, but its a tough board, also there is an 8 spot that is worth 21, which even if you dont connect it to anything, makes it worth more than destination cards sometimes, pretty crazy

funny about the kid tho, im surprised the game is rated for kids considering it has multi level strategies

They're here now and said we played North America and printed out the other one they called At Home.

They did not really say much else, it turned into a slight debate because the wife and son are on a online parent teacher meeting. He's 14. Probably would be more fun when he was 5.

Europe sounds pretty cool.

He was pretty young when he used to beat us at monopoly with a slight amount of me sandbagging. His mom is not very good at it.

I have played the Board game version and not the PC version. As far as I know, we played "Classic" and I think I saw one variation, as far as the actual Board game is concerned. It was fun and required a bit of strategy.

It was not one of my favorite games I learned in 2017-2019, before COVID. I really like the card game Coup (and some of its several variations). It is a simple game, lots of FUN, and trying to figure out who is lying is not as bad as Mafia.

I have the Steam version. It's not thrilling enough to play that often. I think that there was some decent online player-base - but I also suspect that they through in some AIs. It's better than Memoir '44 by the same company where you need to pay per game.

I play when I'm over with the niece and nephews because they really like it. Only played it a few times.

so would you recommend purchasing the game from steam? or is it passable? ive been torn on the choice lately, id rather not pay per game lol that sounds awful

Yeah my wife does not like monopoly at all. I was actually surprised when she played a few games with the offspring. Then she quit again leaving just the three of us.

I like the original Coup the best (featured in the image in my previous post). I have played 2-3 variations. In one version, Inquisitor replaces the Ambassador. That adds something for a good variation and change of pace.

We got into it for a while, but most us (in my playing group) like Coup (original) the best: fast, fun, and full of action. I think part of the boredom factor is the group you play with and how many other games of variations you try so that boredom does not set it.

my wife just brought home a new board last night, france, its huge and has another level of play in it, you have to add tracks before you can build on them, its insane and adds a whole new depth to the game

it also has "the old west" on the back, so thats gonna be fun also!
