USG: democracy ‘isn’t our objective’

A senior member of the US Government has publicly declared that the American government is not and never has been intended to be a democracy:

He's correct.

Yup, from the beginning it was a playground for rich landowners to live idyllic lives while their slaves were ground into the dust.

The circumstances of the slaves have somewhat improved, but not much. Nowadays they have a right to resign from the service of one owner and go enjoy life for a week or two, until hunger drives them to sign on with another owner and they can resume being ground into the dust.
