I think that countries using a language that has the name of another country is proof of an inferior subculture though. Like you have to be an ex colony that has been bending over to be speaking someone else's language. In Europe we all have our own language, and we basically colonized the world except for china and such, so the world speaks our languages.
You guys should be fluent in Navajo or something if ou truely don't want to be another bend over submissive culture.

I'm not really a big drinker. I did used to go to bars alone while working abroad to try and pick up birds though. Is that some sort of alien concept to you?

I have learned a couple of those pointless European languages, simply for getting pussy when I worked there. It was a waste of time because they all speak English anyway.

As a second or third language, I couldn’t agree more. People in general will be speaking better english than today, but that’s it. No one will ever give up on his mother tongue nor stop teaching it as their kid’s first language.
You still won’t be able to be understood everywhere as an english speaker.
This summer I have je his childhood friend that has been married for like 10 years to a brit and they live in london. The guy refuses to learn any french. So basically we all are supposed to speak english when he’s around in France between french speakers... well we do a bit but we always switch to french and hé always complains that je doesn’t understand. English speakers are such lazy fucks when it comes to learning other languages. If you make no effort after so many years, I don’t feel like making any either.. if I m in France and you don’t understand french, I’m not going to speak in your foreign language all the time just because.
It’s like this brit girl I met the other day, she s been living 5 years in Spain and she can t order a fucking coke in spanish... she speaks in english to the waiter ! How mentally lazy can you be? I think it’s a sign of lazyness and disrespect.
Learning other languages will always be a thing. English speakers not making any effort will always be considered lazy disrespectful fucks and will be judged negatively wherever they go for not even pretending to try, even in a 100 years

You make some good points betiko.
But I feel a certain sense of irony considering the French are widely known as a nation where many are too proud/arrogant to learn to speak English.
But yeah, If I moved to France, learning to speak French fluently would be a goal for the first year, naturally.
