I guess the liquid that is being used much more than the gel on this side of the Atlantic Ocean has not made it to jolly old England.
Distilleries are producing huge amounts of it to help supply the new high demand, because they are set up already and it can be made by similar processes as the spirits you would produce for human consumption.
https://distilling.com/distillermagazin ... sanitizer/Leaving out the ingredient to make it form gel reduces cost and speeds up processing.
Some of it has a vinegar, or other unpalatable scent to prevent a desire to mix it into cocktails, but most of us don't like our hands to smell bad, so there are some that smell like vodka and some that have been made with pleasant sweet scents.
Most people probably look at who made it and figure. "They make vodka or whiskey so this must just be extra strength."
Now unlike "Americans", Mr severed whisky dick kid, is an expert that could teach the likes of Stephen William Hawking or Neil deGrasse Tyson the subtle differences between, drinking alcohol and disinfecting alcohol, while enjoying a nice pint of lager.
