BLM Protester Waves Gun, Gets Shot

Postby saxitoxin on Sun Jul 26, 2020 2:43 am

A BLM protester waved a long gun at a vehicle in Texas. He was immediately shot to death by the driver of said vehicle.

Another victim of Joe Biden's advice. Oh well, one less Biden voter in November.

I don't expect the lawlessness to end so time to prepare. The safest form of personal protection for everyone is Mace. If you are going to get a gun I recommend a lower caliber self defence weapon. You don't need bullets that will travel though house after house. Less kickback means more shots on target.

If you have ever been through inflation or hyperinflation you are already holding silver. It might look high right now but look at the stock market. The power buyers haven't started moving into silver yet. Also qualitative easing is still taking place in America, The EU and beyond. Budget short falls trigger most inflation and with all the sales taxes missing from restaurants, hotels, car retails and movie theaters this will happen. Best to study the history and causes of inflation. I would suggest Brazil as the most interesting example. Keep in mind the effects on goods caused by a potential real trade war with China. :geek:

God told you to hold silver and buy low caliber guns? Did he mention holding bitcoin or ETH?

You're too late to get into bit coin in my opinion.

This was an unfortunate event.

I don't think Joe suggests you approach a motor vehicle in Texas with a shotgun.

This is exactly the response that fat white couple who waved guns at BLM protesters should have received.

They were allowed to live, and have now had time to be sucked into the protective orbit of the state governor. The BLM activities threatened by their lethal force should have taken the opportunity there and then to put a bullet in each eyeball!

What is backing it? It seems over valued and I believe it's going to crash, the only question in my opinion is, when?

Would have been nice to have bought in early and made a profit.

Technology is backing it. You might be surprised to know how much 'institutional' wealth is now invested in either bitcoin or ones like it (or you might not lol). Bitcoin itself probably won't ever see mainstream adoption as a useful currency for average consumers (people don't usually buy stuff directly with gold either), but many other altcoins are pretty primed to take over online transacting.

You are in Canada right? How much does it cost you right now to send someone in America $100 (CDN) (for our purposes today, mailing someone a $100 bill doesn't count)? How easy or complicated is it, and how fast does it happen. It should be really easy and almost free, but likely the option you have will charge you a minimum of 3%. You can already do it cheaper by sending someone XLM. Let say you want to send $100 (CDN) to your friend in Nigeria. You are probably going to spend $15-20 trying to get them the $100. XLM, it would be the same price as sending it to an American. Now say you are a multi billion net worth oil company that wants to send the money from Nigeria to Canada... suddenly there is a whole lot of value is saving 10%+ in transaction/bank/swifte fees and charges.

I realize this is just one small example, and that it's got a really long way to go re-adoption and usability... I just don't think it's 'going away' or going to zero. There are already uses for crypto that are better/cheaper than how things have been done historically and I just see that picking up steam over time. People used to laugh at the idea they would take photos with their phone instead of a camera.

I could be wrong though, it might crash... but it's price has been pretty stagnant for about 2-3 years now. It's bounced back from any mini crashes it's had during that time and i totally see it going past 20k at some point in the next couple years. it's a gamble for sure, but when the quants tell me it's something that isn't going away i tend to want to believe them.

Jumping on the currency train, I don't think Bitcoin will be a viable source forever. Eventually, someone will crack that algorithm for their advantage.

I did not ask who is backing it. I know it's currently trusted and there are several smart guys doing that. In fact today I would love to have a bunch. Now that's out of the way.

If everyone tried to get their money, do you think it's there?

Currently here in Texas you can not enter a branch bank. Only drive through. Lines are vey long. As we get closer to the election Go cash heavy. If in 6 months nothing Put it all back. That's the plan.

One should never try to catch a falling knife.

It's not a bank, so there is no such think as trying to get your money out (in dollars). The investor/consumer has their coins, if everyone decided they wanted to turn their coins into something else all at once the price relative the other currencies would go down fast certainly. I would also add that this has happened multiple times. Some pretty fantastic crashes, but every time bitcoin has recovered because enough people bought back in. I'm not saying it couldn't crash again, it's almost certain to crash many many times, but it keeps recovering (at least so far). To answer your question more directly, it's first come first serve pricing on bitcoin, just like the stock market. if there is a crash and everyone is selling the price drops and you snooze you lose and your coins won't be worth what they were 15 min ago when you heard it was tanking... but if you don't try to turn those coins in for something else at at the shitty fallin price and just sit on the history has shown the price will bounce back. I don't think anyone out there is advocating storing all your money in coins, so I don't think we are in a position here where you can't get your money out of the bank and can't pay your rent kind of tragedy for anyone if the price does crash.

The opposite is also true though. If you lived in a country with a weak currency and rampant inflation like say oh hell I don't know say Zimbabwe, and you didn't want your savings to be kept in their currency maybe bitcoin is a viable alternative for you. Not for alot of 'transacting', but as a store of value (like buying gold). It's a brave new world out there with this stuff! I find it really interesting to read about how these gov'ts try to respond, sometimes banning, sometime embracing sometime bouncing back and forth between the two. Might not be bitcoin specifically, but crypto in some form is sticking around. Will be interesting to see what China does with a digital currency.

Now I'm NOT saying bitcoin is a replacement for gold, but i think there is room for both. It is probably much easier in Zimbabwe to buy a virtual coin then to buy gold, and certainly would be 'safer' than living in a poor country and word getting out that you are hoarding gold.

Well that's not gonna happen. They all support gun control. On the rare occasion you find one that doesn't - like Austin - they get put down pretty efficiently.

Silver $28.15

Pill it up.

I might have gotten the last good deal in this city. Got a lot at melt. The coin shops are charging 19% to 25% premium on USA 90% junk coins. That's crazy.

Supply has become hard to find.
